All kidding aside, I think that when it is all said and done us Red Sox fans will applaud people like Jeter co. Sort of like Larry Bird night when Magic Johnson showed up. We love to hate each other. I think Yankee Stadium is awesome and I am sorry to see it go. I do like Fenway better only because of it's smaller size and the neighborhood has better bars and is a tad more appealing to the eye (my opinion). If Jimmy played Yankee Stadium I would go.
Still hoping for Jones Beach though. Love the view.
Oh and Red Sox fans also have a guy named Dice K.
Igawa looked real good in two innings yesterday. Has Dice K pitched yet? I do think it's great that they spent so much $$$ on a guy who never pitched in the majors which is a huge gamble and he's nicknamed "Dice" Very apprpriate. Ok I need to get back on topic too. my bad....
Yeah he pitched. Manny stood in the box against him. I wouldn't call Dice a gamble especially when Gil Meche got similar money. Lets hope to continue this at Jones Beach in mid - august.

A number of years back I saw U2 at Yankee Stadium and that was a great show, if Jimmy were to do a show there what an incredible concert it would be although with no parking the pre show festivities might be a little weak.
As for Jones Beach, I had heard that he only gets in there every two years because of advertising obligations. The concert series usually has things like Coke and Coors and since his sponsors are Corona (or Land Shark Lager) and Margaritaville Tequila he only plays every other year. I may be wrong about that but looking at his recent track record with Jones Beach it makes sense...2006, 2004, 2002 etc...

Jones Beach is also one of the smallest venues he plays, that might have something to do with it too. 14,000 at Jones Beach vs. 20,000+ at one of the sheds

That's the worst case scenario.

Since he probably won't play JB this year...wheres the party????..lol

Gil meche has logged much more innings against MLB hitters then Dice K has. He is a gamble like any unproven ( or really any proven) guy. His is a very expensive one, that's all...

I'm thinking July 7....we'll set up between the 2 buildings at Zachs Bay a few rows in....I think it's a definite must-do for anyone who can make it to Jones Beach for a Saturday afternoon!

Hmm, I wonder if the Park Police will be as forgiving with no Buffett concert as they are when he has a show there..lol. I guess if you offer up some food, something to drink they will be fine. Actually on a Saturday in July, somebody will be playing the beach.

During the show at MSG on September 14, 2006 Jimmy says to a fan...
"Bring it to Jones Beach next year. I'll be lookin' for you."

Dice is special. I would be saying that if he signed with anyother team. With Becket and Paps the Sox have 3 pretty good 26 year olds - not to mention Lester.

Really, I didnt get to that show as much as I wanted to..if he said that then maybe it will be a late or surprise addition to the schedule. If that were the case I would think it would be 1st or 2nd week of July. I'm crossing my fingers here!!!

I remember that, it was when he came back out for the encore. He took a life preserver off one of the lifeguard chairs and tossed it to a guy in the first row behind the stage.

So give your opinions - Jones Beach on Junbe 30th? Predictions? Can't do a Camden tuesday so I am hoping for a Wantah! gig and a trip to the Hamptons . . .

Jones Beach is all but 10 minutes from my house...but if he plays at the end of June, I'll be hours from there in the BVI...how about August?

I go to a lot of Buffett shows and I travel to most of them so for purely selfish reasons I'd like a Jones Beach show this year. But if there is one I'd be more surprised than I was last year when Fingers walked out on stage at the Garden.

So far the majority of the rumors around here have been dead on. The only one that was off was Camden and I think that was because of Chensey. Jones Beach on the 30th could be his "on my way home before the mid west gigs in July" show.
