I went to school before they started using calculators. I was always horrible at math. I have to write everything down and ponder it carefully. I can't calculate in my head.

I work in an artists' co-op where I have to run the cash register. When something goes wrong I'm totally flustered

I'm the queen of the "voids" on the register tape.  I have to start all over so I don't get confused if a transaction changes in the middle of what I was doing.

Some of us just aren't wired the same when it comes to math stuff. I don't consider myself stupid and had a very responsible job for 31 years in corporate America where I was able to learn all kinds of computer programs and had to fix problems the managers were having with their software on their PC's.

Perhaps some of you are so good at Math are bad spellers or can't type quickly. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Have sympathy for those of us who say MATH SUKS!

Luckily most of our customers don't expect artists to have a whole lot of expertise in math [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

having taken the new SAT, I don't think I my brain has ever felt more numb before. It's essentially sitting at a desk for 5 hours on material (especially math) I learned as far back as 7th grade, and most of it I had learned by 9th or 10th grade. The only reason you would need a calculator is because of time sakes. It's faster to punch in (1/2)*24*35 to find out the area of a triangle than to write it out.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

the woman last night did a little better...but the question she was stumped on??? come on!

How many decades are in 2 milleniums?

she said 20....then after she heard the explanation of the answer...she laughed and said "that's what I was going to say, 2000!"

oh boy....
