It's gonna be a Margaritaville. Not a CiP

Unless I missed something (entirely possible), Jimmy no longer has any ownership in CIP. He sold his piece over a year ago...but still gets royalties. Outback was purchased a few months back by a group headed by the former CEO. I never saw anything indicating JB was part of this group...although he certainly could have been as it was a private equity deal.ColdWaterConch wrote:cheeseburger in paradise....JB's new restraunt chain (which was formerly a joint partnership with Outback)ppfishing84 wrote:What is a CIP?

Outback Steakhouse Inc. said its subsidiary Outback Steakhouse Tropical Inc. on July 22 bought out singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett to become the sole owner of Cheeseburger in Paradise LLC, the entity that developed 17 Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurants.
The subsidiary previously owned a 50-percent stake in Cheeseburger in Paradise LLC, with Buffett owning the other half.
Under a simultaneously amended sublicense agreement, royalties paid by Cheeseburger in Paradise LLC to Buffett through Cheeseburger Holding Co. LLC increased from 2.0 percent to 4.5 percent of net sales, Outback said.
The deals do not affect terms of a separate deal the Buffett group had made with the unrelated Cheeseburger Restaurants Inc. of Orange, Calif., which developed the first Cheeseburger in Paradise, now one of three in Hawaii, as well as Cheeseburger Las Vegas and Cheeseburger Key West.

Sorry, but to me a Margaritaville at Navy Pier would "cheapen" the Margaritaville name. It's too touristy and not exactly an "escape" location.Glorfindel7 wrote:I'm still waiting for a "Margaritaville" in the Chicago Area.....
I see two possibilities, maybe "Navy Pier" or up north by Wrigleyville.

Isn't theat what Margaritaville is, a touristy spot?Quiet and Shy wrote:Sorry, but to me a Margaritaville at Navy Pier would "cheapen" the Margaritaville name. It's too touristy and not exactly an "escape" location.Glorfindel7 wrote:I'm still waiting for a "Margaritaville" in the Chicago Area.....
