Why were you looking at me when you said this, Miss Constance?
I wasn't looking at you but thru you to the other side
Damn, and I knew better than to sit next to Frank.
My real advice? Call your local shelter and ask them if you can pre-pay for the adoption cost. You can also tell them that you want the dogs back if they are not adopted out. Personally, I don't know how anyone can give up a dog, but this may be a way to pass them on to a good home.
I didn't see you sitting there buddy!!! You've got great dogs!!!
Well...(said in my best Bubba voice) I've been on sabbatical.

I agree, my dogs rock. But the older one is on her last trip around the sun. About once a week I go to bed thinking that she won't make until morning, then the next day, she acts like she is a pup again. She has had a good run, at 14 1/2 years.
My Sasha was a dog that needed a yard. The house was sold, and I moved into an apartment. Not fair for her. Had a friend who loved Sasha, and adopted her from me. She had a loving home to go to, and my friend called from the vets office to ask me what to do when Sasha had a tumor suddenly rupture in her spleen.
You might know of someone at work who is looking for a dog right now.

The cats are our babies and the dogs are like our stepchildren- that's just not fair to them.
Am I the only one who got offended by this? As an adoptive parent, I just need to say that these aren't the most appealing words I've seen today. Not chiming in to stir the pot, but it's against my beliefs and disrespectful to my children not to point out the ignorance of this statement.
My son came from my body, my daughter came from my heart. I love them equally. Really.
first, let me say that I do not like animals of any kind at all! I am smart enough to admit that and will never be swayed by my children begging daily for a dog. I'd love to give them what they want, but I know me and I would not like having a dog and I would never want to be in a postion to be insensitive to any living thing.
So, that said...I think the lashing out that has occured here is a result of the way she explained her situation...she used the word "hate" concering the dogs about 15 times...she commented only how inconvenient they were to her and her cats...and felt comforted by teh fact that her husband hated them too. She sounded like she was talking about getting rid of rats or roaches rather than dogs that she supposedly loved.
I am sure that was a result of frustration about the situation...but possibly, that is why people felt the need to attack..kind of in protection of the dogs.
Even I felt sorry for the dogs...and you know how I feel about them. I could picture the hate that she expressed being taken out on them..and that is what I think others may have felt also.

I never felt that she hates the dogs because I read this

And I know all of that hate will eventually turn into hating the dogs, which isn't fair to us or them.
