KC has not been around as long as buffett.

If you look at any other singers that have been around for decades and still tour, their ticket prices are way up there too. i.e. The Stones, U2, Garth Brooks....

Just be happy that he is still touring; because the day when buffett stops, is the day you will have to pay alot more to see him either at a private showing in St. barth's, or at a Margaritaville.

Just my 2 cents

What's the big deal? Jimmy can fart Margaritaville on cd and we'd buy it
Yes the tickets are high but that's okay with me since I only make a show every now and then.
The last couple of performances I've seen have blown but I've always had a good time in the lot with friends, which is the main thing for me anyway.

Personally, I don't care what the ticket prices are. If I can get them, without going to a ticket broker, I'm going. My only problem is I need 3 together because the keet is a big fan and it's fun for all of us. :D :D

Are Jimmy's prices too high? Probably, but that's just my opinion. But I'm still going to Tinley this year. I seriously considered blowing it off. I wouldn't have been terribly disappointed if I didn't get tickets on Monday.

But since the tickets sell out in about ten minutes, they're probably too cheap from economic point of view. Demand far exceeds supply.

ticket prices are pretty steep all across the board. My husband and I saw Billy Joel last week and our tickets were okay and they cost us over $85 each. So I'm thinking I'd pay $40 more to be super close to the stage to see Buffett. Paying $40 more to be at the ultimate tailgate party, with a ton of friends, behaving like children, creating memories and stories to tell for years. Worth it? ABSOLUTELY. for everyone? maybe not. But don't blame Jimmy for the cost-- he can't really control how much XYZ venue has to charge to cover its costs. and then Jimmy has to pay everyone on his crew too. that's a lot of people. that's a lot of people who work very hard to make sure all of us who paid hard-earned money to see the show feel like we got our money's worth.

lecture over.

I think there's a pretty simple solution to this problem. Anyone who thinks ticket prices are too high can stay home and listen to the show on RM

If you can get very close, I think it's worth the money. Not so much if you're toward the back of the seats though. I think the price is too high, but I try to convince myself that it's a big band and they all should get a good amount. I don't agree that the price is so reflective of the venue covering its costs though. I've seen plenty of shows at the same places Buffett plays for a quarter of the price. The quality of the show justifies the cost. I hesitate to say it seems like he's trying to get the same money for half the shows, but that's how it appears. I can't afford the big expense, but I want to go, so I'll be bringing up the rear this year.

The tickets are high, especially if you can't afford them! :D

It's a once-a-year event, with a free all-day party thrown in. A chance to meet everyone, have big night-before and after-show parties.

Best deal in town. Easy.

Every year people p*** and moan about ticket prices..but really all that has gone up is the reserved seating. The lawn seats have remained fairly consistant, and really are a pretty good deal compared to ticket prices for a lot of shows now. We should be thankful that Jimmy is still touring and keeping things reasonable for those of us on the lawn!!

Let's not forget The Beatles and Led Zepp, since they tour as much as Garth Brooks has in the past, oh, 7 years or however long it's been since Garth called it quits.

No word on JB playing Jazz Fest. If he is, I'll most likely be there, and if I am, I'll either get to see him for $35 to $45 or for free.

Granted, it's probably not the same set list as the tour, as he usually plays JF a bit different. And it's not as long of a show. But it is JB and he's live with the CRB and for $45 or whatever that's a hell of a deal.

But I doubt he's going to play JF this year.
