True.
The guiy who wrote this is correct, and we do have a right to complain...even if we buy tickets. Its not Jimmy everyone cares about anyway, its being drunk with 20,000 other people....could just be Jimmy on a projection screen and most of us would pay thru the nose. By the way, Garth Brooks doesnt tour anymore whoever wrote that one. And if you people here consider yourself at all honest or reasonable, the reason Joel, U2, Stones, ect. cost more than Jimmy is because they are better musicians and/or writers. Maybe not better performers, but certainly more talent. I know we all love Jimmy but I wish people could be honest on here once and awhile and realize NO ACT is worth that kinda of money. Go ahead and go anyway, I do. Call me a hypocrit, I dont care. Simply put his show is too much to pay for a little music from a band that can play about 6 chords, especially when most are too drunk to know if it were Warren Buffett on stage. Fins Up, but Fins Up with honesty.

Most of YOU are too drunk (are you the one who urinated on me in Charlotte?) Stay home, get smashed and watch Warren on CNBC. You obviously won't know the difference.especially when most are too drunk to know if it were Warren Buffett on stage.

I go for the music, not to be drunk with 20,000 other people.
I wouldn't pay $126 to watch a video screen instead of a live performance.
Those other acts you mention cost more not so much because they're more talented but because their fans are willing to pay as much as $450 (the Stones) to see them.
Going to a Jimmy Buffett concert is worth $126 to me. If it wasn't I wouldn't go.

I'm thinking you don't know much about the musical abilities of the Coral Reefer Band, or you wouldn't make such an idiotic (and inaccurate) statement....Vulchor wrote:Simply put his show is too much to pay for a little music from a band that can play about 6 chords...

To me the best example that JB's tickets are not overpriced is the two Gillette stadium shows officially sold out in one hour. That's 120,000+ tickets. Cheaper JB tickets just won't happen unless he starts playing significantly more shows again.
Technically demand is defined as those who are willing and able to pay for a product. I am willing and able to pay to go. Those who aren't will not be counted in the demand. Such is life...

What I love is the resellers somehow manage to purchas a ton of his tix when I'm working my a** off hitting "buy buy buy" on ticketbastard's website....
I think this year I'll just rush the gate. The last concerts I've been to here in Atlanta the security reminded me of Barney Fife (For those of you televisionally challenged, that's the nimwitted deputy from Andy Griffith show, and if you don't know Andy, google, your too young to be readin' here)

I haven't seen this much excitement since I stirred up the pot with you, Schoolgirl!!
High price or not, it's a good time. Jimmy sounds good, the band (and all of their 6 chords lol) sound good, and the fans turn an ordinary parking lot into an oasis of fun. Some go to drink too much, others go for the tunes. It's all depends on what you want. I know what I'm getting at every show- my money's worth, whether it's 80 bucks or 800 bucks- name a list of today's bands that deliver the quality of a Buffett show, or name a list of bands that will be around 30 years from NOW that will sell out stadiums- Fall Out Boy? Britney? Nope.
I treat the day I'm going to a Buffett show like it's Christmas Day- it's that much fun.

So Jimmy and the band can only play 6 chords and a lot of other people are better singers/songwriters?
What about Jimmy being inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame
What about the countless songs Mac has wrote for not only his own career, but SEVERAL other singers including TOP country artist and Buffett himself
What about the Reefer's project called CLub Trini, sounds like they know more then 6 chords
Times have changed, and people don't get paid $4 a day now. Better pay and higher wages goes hand in hand with higher cost of living and higher ticket prices. Like I said earlier, gas isn't $1 a gallon any more
Yeah I go to have a great time with 20000 other parrotheads, but I don't have to get drunk to have a great time.

I'll agree that it's predictable and not earth moving anymore but I still love the whole concert experience.
However, if there were no tailgating with friends, it would not be near as fun or worth it to me anyway.
All that said, I've always been on the lawn and upper sections so I've never paid over $70 for a ticket anyways.

was just talking to girlfriend and she's done a great job of recruiting folks to go with us to the Bristow show. thankfully they're not at all afraid of the ticket prices and said, "the people watching alone is worth the price of admission."
just so you know, we're all being watched!
and that other people find that WORTH something! I had to laugh!
just so you know, we're all being watched!

Did you ever notice it's the people who can't afford tickets who b**** about the musicianship of certain artists. We go through this evey year, people.
If you don't want to spend the money for tickets, don't. Just let us do it if we want to. You can not put a price tag on a good time. Stop your complaining. Nobody wants to hear it.
As for U2 or the Stones charging more money because they are better artists, that's a bunch of hooey. They charge more because they can get more. There are plenty of brilliant musicians who couldn't sell out my back yard.
I am going on 28 years of seeing Buffett. I am not about to let something as silly as high ticket prices stop me.
If you can't afford tickets, it's probably your fault, not Jimmy's.
