I guess none of them want to partake in any of the hundreds of jello shots I made last night....

Its not a bad article. Seems like its pretty much unbiased reporting. No real opinion whether or not our brand of escapism is good or bad.

Just some talking about Jimmy.

A little news I heard this morning on the news (KDKA). Larry Richert came on as he always does to give a little whatever from the KDKA radio (www.kdkaradio.com) station. The contact page:http://www.kdkaradio.com/pages/16216.php

Today was about Buffett:

StarLake is really getting the news out there as follows:
You will NOT be allowed to bring into the concert area: Digital Cameras or Picture Phones.

if you go on StarLakes website http://www.livenation.com/event/getEvent/eventId/255968 it says digital cameras are allowed
A lot of venues allow cameras but some artists don't. Buffett typically doesn't allow cameras (Anguilla and Paris were exceptions) so if that's his policy the venue has to at least try to enforce it.

How many people these days own a phone that doesn't have a built-in camera? It's pretty hard to find one without a camera.

I do! :D I don't mind it, but the rotary dial can sometimes be a pain.

24 hours from now I hope to be entering Ohio!

The only way that they can really enforce this policy is by doing what the US Open did, which was to make everyone go through a metal detector.

I've been to Buffett shows where they had metal detectors at the gates, other shows they used the hand held wands. I've also been to shows where they patted everyone down on the way in so if they really want to stop people from bringing cameras in, it can be done.

Good Luck with them trying to enforce the no camera phone rule. How are people supposed to find each other inside...how many times have you stumbled your way to the bathroom and walked back, looked and the lawn and said sh*t i have no clue where you are!

Some of us remember when there were no cellphones. We found our way back. Either that, or you waited until you saw the same people twice (you realize you are walking in circles) and you stopped and partied with those people. If you are with real friends you never had to worry about finding them in the parking lot after the show. But that only works if you can find the car without your cellphone.

I remember one concert many, many years ago when I sat in the parking lot til it was quite empty in order to find my car  Have matured a bit since then.

Apology if this has been posted within the first 57 pages of this thread but the PG Pavilion website says lots will open at 4PM. Doesn't mention anything about VIP lots. We'll see how close they stick to their guns =)

The conversation as I went to Philly on Saturday in '05. Crossed the border at 4am the day of the show...

Where are you going? Philadelphia.

How long? Coming back Sunday night.

Business or pleasure? Pleasure.

What's in Philadelphia? Going to the Jimmy Buffett show.

<Customs guy pauses and takes a good look at my passport>

What the hell would you want to go see him for? <I think the best I could give him was a shrug>

Alright, have a good time.

StarLake is really getting the news out there as follows:
Parking lots will NOT open until 4pm
No Ticket - sorry 'you can't come in!'
You are NOT allowed to park along Rt18 to wait for the gates to open
You will NOT be allowed to bring into the concert area: Digital Cameras or Picture Phones.

Out of the 3 the last one is ticking me off...since if you go on StarLakes website http://www.livenation.com/event/getEvent/eventId/255968 it says digital cameras are allowed on the bottom of the page under permitted items, but about is says no.

What to do now? My hands are tied I have tried my contacts. There is a help page on this website, then click to email a question. I guess could write to Post Gazette too (www.post-gazette.com), who owns the Pavilion.
Okay, now wait just a bleedin' minute. First off, we are meeting the person who has our tickets IN the parking lot. Secondly, we will need our cellphones in order to find him and the rest of our club. Not to mention that I keep my cellphone on me AT ALL TIMES due to my being my Dad's contact if he needs anything. Thirdly, there is no way in HELL they are going to be able to deal with all the cars piled up on the roads.... what drugs are these in-duh-viduals on, anyway, and where can I get some?

No, scratch that last - I'd like to retain all of my current IQ points.

Sheesh. :o
