This will be my 11th show at Nissan and though the Great Woods crowd would disagree, I don't think there's a better tailgate anywhere. We weren't able to get tickets to Nissan, but would like to come and tailgate. (Hopefully, we might get tickets in the parking lot, but if we don't, we'll keep partying in the parking lot and listen on Sirius).
I was wondering what the tailgating is like? Are they strict on having alcohol? Will we be able to set up the tiki bar and margarita ball without being hassled? Would like to know what to expect before we drive the 8 or 9 hours there and find out we can't party like we planned.
As stated earlier, keep your drinks in a Solo cup and you should be fine. There have been instances where the Prince William County police want to see tickets before letting you in the lot however. Don't know if that will be the case this year.

The Calypso Nuts always perform towards the front of the parking lot near the port-o-potties. That is not a bad place to hang out for a while. It is in the shade, and they have good/free/live music. Finding a place to set up camp together is very hard unless all the vehicles arrive at the same time. The parking crew can be a pain in the a$$.TIKIboy wrote:I'll be making my 3rd Nissan show and keeping my fingers crossed the heat stays away this year... is there a place where BNers seem to congregate in the parking lot? Our group is planning to arrive around 2:00 and set up camp.

I checked my order and according to TicketMaster, my tickets have been printed. What I find funny is the next line. It says "Your tickets were shipped via standard Canada Post mail. Items shipped in this way will arrive at least 48 hours prior to the event."Clintster7 wrote:Hockey Mon now that was a good one
Great. My tickets are going through Canada. Maybe they can bring me some beer when they show up.
Turned out I was logged into ticketmaster.ca, not ticketmaster.com. Oops. Looks like the will go standard US mail.

Thanks LZ! I'm really looking forward to seeing the two drunk girls in the orchestra that flash the jumbotron cameraman every year. I seem to remember someone calling one of them a "freaky Morticia Adams-looking chick"LayziePir8 wrote:The Calypso Nuts always perform towards the front of the parking lot near the port-o-potties. If anyone knows of a group getting a charter bus this year, we have a group of 26 willing to fill the empty seats. We usually go with the WAPHC but they are unsure as to if they are going to bus it this year. PM me if you have any info.

we need to get some of the BN badges/lanyards so we can spot one another at the show!
PS. I'll be sitting/standing in the lawn. From the section that separates the lawn from the seats, I'll probably be about 20 steps up and 5 steps to the right. It's *sort of* the center of the lawn. Counting steps, or "triangulating" as my friends and I like to call it, is the only way we've been able to not get lost among the sea of people in the lawn. Also standing near incredibly tall or obnoxious people helps but that has it's drawbacks.
