Butter - Margarine - Or?

I grew up with margarine, more than butter. Butter was too expensive for a family of 7. Chiffon was my favorite - can't seem to get it any more.

I'll cook with butter, but prefer margarine on my breads.
Mom would cook some things with butter but that's about it.
But nowadays, some folks turn to other healthier substitutes.
Oh, and I insist if it's on my bread/English muffing/bagel, etc., that it be spread right to the edge.
What about you?

We grew up with margarine also,
Now that I do the shopping; it is butter (no substitutes) that comes home.
The only time I use margarine is for baking cookies, cause butter browns too fast

Oh, I might add I just starting using (for me) Smart Balance.

I like it just fine.

Grew up on margarine,
Married and had to get butter. It
is good.
Because of HBP I used "I can't believe it's butter..Light" It's ok on bread, but I don't like it on toast

So I still use butter
In restaurants I will use the Promise they give you instead of butter.
My kids won't hardly touch the real butter
Does that answer the question?

Margarine is the most disgusting thing ever invented!!
I am a butter girl - you will never find that other black stuff that is then turned yellow in my fridge!
I have a strange thing with butter - I buy one that is in a plastic tub .. and should the piece of paper that is covering the top go missing - I have to throw the whole tub out ... cannot explain why -but out it goes.

Dont you have a little sheet of paper over the butter/margarine when you first take the lid off?

Nope. Not on the brands I've ever used.
