Hypothetical: You are an attorney in a small, two-lawyer practice. A sweet little old lady comes in and requests you to prepare a simple will. You agree to do so for $100. Several days later, she returns to pick up the completed will. She pays you with a $100 bill, and leaves the office. As soon as she walks out the door, you realize that she has accidentally given you two $100 bills stuck together.

Question: do you or do you not let your partner know about this?

So there's no 3rd choice of "give it back to the lady"?

If you are going to keep the money, don't tell your partner. I believe the right thing to do is give the old lady the $100 back.
