Time change could effect TM.

Post by moeron »

This is just a reminder that the time will change Sat night. There was an article in the chgo Tribune. It seems that a lot of businesses' are having trouble changing their clocks to Daylight savings time. It's 3 weeks earlier this year. So when tickets go on sale Monday. There could be a glitch that could have the tickets going on sale 1 hour earlier. Gee! that could s**k for the scalpers. They might (yeah right) get skunked like I have been in the past. On Monday, look at TM earlier. You never know.

I wouldn't worry. Most of the issues that us IT folk have had concern calendar entries in Outlook and things of that nature.
Anything running off of servers, like Ticketbastard, is pretty easy to just patch and let go.

 I work for a HUGE telecom company and they had us manually print out our calendars from now until November and THEN install the patch (in case it doesn't work ya know).

we are calling the project for DST '07: Mini Y2K.

I can't imagine that Ticketmaster won't get this working right in time for Monday on sale times.

Hehehehe... potentially, it could actually cause more headaches than Y2K did. Y2K was largely a non-event. But if a few big-wigs miss some appointments, then the proverbial excrement could hit the fan. ;)

could they potential be that they go on sale later?? If ticket master doesn't have their clocks changed then they potentially won't spring forward? Soooo..for example...10:00 am Regular time would be 11:00am Daylight savings time....

does that make sense or am I just babbling??

I'm only semi-literate when it comes to computers, but don't you have the ability to change the time manually? End of problem.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

You can, but then in April it would go ahead another hour unless you get a patch to change the move forward date to March 11.
