Reefer Madness . . .

Post by flyboy55 »

with apologies to Brewer and Shipley for alterations . . .

One toke over the line sweet Jesus
One toke over the line
Sittin' downtown in a Hilton Hotel
One toke over the line

Awaitin' for the Plane that goes home, sweet Mary
Hopin' that the Plane is on time
Sittin' downtown in a Hilton Hotel
One toke over the line.

Why?

I've been on the road for three days and on the way to the hotel the driver of the crew cab informs me that the hotel is packed with snowboarders in town for a major event.

Sure enough, on my way back to my room from a workout I step out of the elevator and my nostrils are greeted by the sweet aroma of pot wafting on the air. In fact, it seems the entire floor is shaping up for some kind of reefer convention.

Two questions come to mind:

Do snowboarding and pot necessarily go hand in hand?

Am I going to get any sleep tonight? :-?

(I don't like listening to other folks having fun!)

I think so. Didn't some snowboarder get popped during the winter Olympics a few years ago? And the press acted like it was some sort of surprise.

The sound of hundreds of Doritos bags being opened at the same time can be deafening. :D

SOME of us snowboarders still hang out in the bar after a day of shredding.
Most seem to disappear somewhere else.
It does seem as if I'm surrounded by skiers though when sipping my Blue Moon late in the day.

Yeah- the funniest part was that it was considered a "performance enhancer"- maybe in competitive eating!

I used to smoke pot while skiing all the time... that's what you do on the chairlifts! That, and sip from the bota bag... This was before boarding, so I would say this past time has been around for years...
