Tailgate games?
Has anyone seen that game where you stand on a rectangular box and toss washers into 3 different sized holes? If so, any idea on how to build the thing and what the rules are? Played it at camden a few years back and is a lot of fun.
I can't find any specific plans....but here are some websites. They should be easy enough to build.
http://www.americanwasherboards.com/
http://www.originalwashers.com/washer-t ... -set.shtml
I've always played washers with cups imbedded in the ground and a area cleared around the cup for sliding the washer. Less equipment that carrying around the boards.
However, I do have cornhole boards. Cornhole is similar with bean bags instead of washers.

You will see plenty of it at the Cincinnati tailgate! Including my group!

That sounds like a pretty good idea.Capt.Flock wrote:maybe we shoudl have a corn hole tourney in cincyeyeiser wrote:I can't find any specific plans....but here are some websites. They should be easy enough to build.

I built a hillbilly golf game using PVC, some nylon rope, and old golf balls. Total cost was maybe $15. My kids love playing it, too.
"Key West trades in on the name 'Hemingway." You can't take a leak without seeing Hemingway this and Hemingway that. And the irony is, if Hemingway were alive today he'd take a blowtorch to Duvall Street." Hiaasen

Didn't mean to steal the thread but just had to bite at it. Anyways, this may be the game you are talking about with the washers.

I have also played the game with the golf balls and PVC pipe and is actually a lot of fun and a great tailgate game. We played it a a baseball game and drew a good crowd. If you throw them too hard on concrete, they can really fly! Here is a website for it.

Dosen't tossing washers make you tired? I mean I can barely move the one we have downstairs next to the dryer.psw737 wrote:Has anyone seen that game where you stand on a rectangular box and toss washers into 3 different sized holes? My best friend and I have built a number of sets of washer boards and polish golf (as we call it).
It's super easy!
We have an annual tournament with all of our friends each year. Best place to play washer boards is on a pontoon boat. Adds a whole new level of challenge to the game!
Gotta make sure you have room to close the bow gate though.
We'll be on our usual corner of Kellog and Sutton for the Cinci show if anyone wants to stop by and throw a few. We use the flat boards, not the raised/angled version that resmble cornhole.
I could provide some drawings and measurements if you need them to build yourself. I also have pix of different ones that we've built. We have tweaked the design over the years to prvide more support. Apparently our butts have gotten heavier due to beer over the years.
See you in Cinci!

Re: Tailgate games?
You offering up a ticket? Since I'm taking the next 3 months off of work, I can be there. I'll see if I can sell one of the girls in Mexico so I can afford dat ticket, brother. Haven't been to Pittsburgh since 1983. I think the warrants have expired. Come back.Y-NO-9-O wrote:You ready to play dat on 6/23 in Pittsburgh, big talker?slimwis wrote:Seriously!
