I am Sorry

Yesterday, in a thread in the JB Discussion area, I called someone a name. The term generally not known as a term of endearment for "ladies of the night" was directed at a fairly new poster. I think my use of that term may have led to the deletion of the entire thread from the board.

As I near my fifth year here on BN, I think many of you know, that for the most part.....

.....when alcohol is not involved, I tend to be a pretty civil poster. Very few have raised my ire to the point where I have gotten nasty (see Jah) It bothers me to no end when others here get vile in their personal attacks. As many of my generation were taught and even Thumpers Dad said in Bambi, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". I try to live by that.

My disparaging remark was uncalled for. I made my point (rather well I might add) and that was all I needed to say. Instead I sunk to a new low level and called Ticketbroker a Whore. For this action I am truely sorry. So from the bottom of my heart, to every lady of the evening, ho, call girl, hussy, prostitute and their pimps, madams and johns. I sincerely apologize for lumping you in with or associating you with a Ticket Broker. At least there is a reason for your profession

hugs to you. I would guess you wouldn't have to use the wh word. If you put down the word ticketmaster we'll all know what you mean.

When I read this I only see you using this "apology" as another opportunity to make the same remarks and use the same word and make a second personal attack on someone.
You are apologizing to the BN community and not the individual you attacked personally in this manner. That person still is the target of the same "uncalled for" personal attack even though it bothers you "to no end when others here get vile in their personal attacks".

Sorry. Not buying it.

Gotcha. I misunderstood and thought it was an apology.

I'm with the others who see the absence of the thread as a win-win situation.

And, I love you, Cubster!

So then what did (in general terms) cause it be actually removed?

The person who started it really offered nothing regarding being a broker, posted insults to BN'ers, got folks pretty riled up, and we just didn't need ANOTHER thread about tickets.

It could have been interesting if he was legit and was giving us the inside scoop on how it really works and how they operate within the grey areas of the law in diferent states, etc.
Instead he told us nothing. The thread was a total waste of time.
Maybe a FORMER big-time broker would be willing to clue us in on info that would be useful to us.
I think that guy dabbled in ticket brokering, and knew no more than any of us. I was happy to see the thread killed.
I hope this isn't turning into a continuation of it.
LOCK THIS THREAD NOW SO WE CAN GET SOME SLEEP THIS WEEKEND!!!
