One of my daughters classmates father lost a short but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. 38 is too young to die and 14 is too young to lose your Dad....Sail on Russ

CLINTON — Russ Sinn, 38, of Clinton, died Monday at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

He was born April 15, 1968, in Des Moines to Larry and Trudy Miller Sinn. He married Laurie Barbee on April 23, 1993, in Carlisle.

He was employed with Service Master, Rock Island, Ill.

He was a member of the Clinton Bowling and Greater Davenport Bowling associations. He and Kevin Temperly formed and coached the Clinton Diamond Kings baseball team for several years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Alex and Anthony, both at home; mother, Trudy (Duane) Brown of Clinton; two sisters, Carol Sinn of Minneapolis and Julie (Craig) LeClere of West Des Moines; grandmother, Virginia Miller of West Des Moines; and two nieces and one nephew.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to his sons’ college education fund at Clinton National Bank.

He was preceded in death by his father.
