I WOULD SIGN IT NOT GUILTY....Send it in and see what happens...if you have to go to court....i would tell the judge what he said....aren't they suppose to set precedence also with the law.......i had the same problem with a cop and talking on the cell phone....in Connecticut it's illegal to drive and talk unless you have a headset......i got pulled over and told him ..that cops are the worse i see them all the time talking on there cell phones......he told me they are allowed....well as we were talking a cop drove by on a cell phone...and i said to him...so that looks like a important call he's on......he let me go with a warning..I've since then purchased a headset!!

There seems to be some confusion:
Was Moeron or was he not wearing his seat belt at the time?
I am assuming that he was wearing it, and that the officer wrote the ticket for an infraction that Moe was not guilty of.
If so, all other aspects of the case are moot.
He could have given the officer the finger, swore at him , done anything and could have been legitamatly charged but NOT FOR FAILURE TO WEAR THE BELT!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I'm definitely one the confused. If moeron got a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt, when he (or she...?) was actually wearing one, then that's un-<b>effen'</b>-believable!!! Is that what happened?? Inquiring minds want to know. :D

While driving home, I saw a cop car behind me. The cop was not wearing a seatbelt. At the light the cop was going to turn. I rolled my window down and asked him why he wasn't wearing his belt. Thats when he started ragging about he dosen't have to follow the law only enforce it.

I talked to a phriend who is also a Chicago cop, He said that he would talk to the cop. Odds are that he won't show up for court. If he dosen't show the ticket will be dismissed. I hope so. I'll let you folks know one way or the other. Thanks to all.

Which Municipality was this or was it a county, if so which one. I have a few family members who are officers, and wouldn't it be great to find out who the jag off who gave you the problem is.

Don't just sign it & send it back. There is a number on the back of the summons. It's the court clerk, call & tell her you want to plead "Not Guilty" to the summons you received. She will assign a court date. Go to court & then explain what happened. You will have your day in court. If you ignore the summons, by just sending it back or doing nothing at all, the judge will issue a warrant for your arrest for " Failure to Appear".

I WAS wearing the belt. The cop was just a jag.

Update: I talked to my phriend who is a cop. He talked to the ticket writing cop. My phriend said to get there early so IF the cop is late the ticket will be dismissed. I hope so. I guess it could be worse, the cop could have beat me up like so many cops are doing now. He was just having a bad day at my expense.

I should have taken a picture of the cop " Breaking the law"

not to offend anyone, but 95% of cops are just as much scum as the people they arrest. its a shame what they are allowed to get away with.

maybe if we wouldn't have picked on them in grade school, they wouldn't have power-tripping obsessions

while we're talking about legalized mafia, we might as well get rid of the lawyers and bankers too.

Don't have any friends in the law enforcement field, just a couple of people I know but they wouldn't even know my name. Just like any other field, I'm sure there are good & bad, but you can put me down as "pro-cop". The few times I've needed their assistance, they've been great. The half-dozen speeding tickets I've acquired thru the years? Deserved every one of 'em. Never felt they were out to get me or had a bug up their a**.

95% scum? I don't believe that for a second. They all have their good days and bad days, the only difference being that a cop's bad day might be something I wouldn't even want to imagine.

Offense taken (sorry let my temper take over for a second). There are people who should be removed from the force, just like there are people in every profession who disgrace it. But to same something like this is just stupid.

alright alright. i guess im a little grouchy today from lack of sleep.

from my experiences, i can only recall 5% of cops who acted in a benevolent manner. i've been lied to, lied about, cursed at, and almost everything else in the book by a**hole cops. if i would have made a generalization i would have said 100%.

personally, i don't appreciate my tax dollars going to a force which serves speeding tickets for most of their day. this country has serious problems with drugs, weapons, and immigrations. the force makes it sound like speeding is the next bubonic plague.

don't call me a**hole.

I'm a little grouchy for having to mollycoddle a bunch of whining, sniveling, helpless brats who think the world owes them something just for being born and think the laws don't apply to them. You know-the ones who, when Mom & Dad buy them their fancy sports cars, think the road comes as an added piece of equipment.

And no cop has ever been lied to, cursed at, spit on, had their family threatened, been threatened to be sued (my favorite ones) by 95% of the a-hole speeders we stop.
(If I wanted to make a generalization, I would've said 100%).
OH, I forgot-cops are supposed to set a higher standard.
well, then, Sherlock-how about giving us higher pay

Have you ever had a child run over by a speeder while he/she was only crossing the street? Or even walking on the G.D. sidewalk?
I didn't think so.
I'm HAPPY my tax dollars support law enforcement. Better them than 95% of the damn social programs this "entitlement generation" has mandated we support.
this country has serious problems with drugs, weapons, and immigrations.
You can thank your trial lawyers and liberal judges who've been installed by your lovely elected liberal Messiahs.
the force makes it sound like speeding is the next bubonic plague.
Again-I'll hear your reaction to this when you lose a child to a motorist who had to get to the video store before it closed.

You're right-when you're in MY sector, DON'T p*** me off!
Obey the laws as written, and we'll get along fine. Otherwise, I'LL be the one having all the fun.
don't call me a**hole.
I'm trying my damndest NOT to.

But you may feel free to call ME one.
It means I'm doing my job.

Have a nice day and be sure to come back. SIR.

seriously dude, get a life. did i direct this at you?

was that 'mommy and daddy' comment directed towards me?

in my industry, you get higher pay for stellar performance. but according to you, cops will only work more efficiently AFTER they've been paid more. sounds like a** backwards unionized liberal thinking to me

if you think being a cop means you are entitled to take liberties with the law whenever you please than you are the wrong man for the job. maybe you dont think like this, but you are coming off that way. just because i hire you to enforce the law doesnt mean you can break it whenever you please (you meaning a cop in general - not you personally....i figured you wouldnt understand that unless i explained it)

btw, im not going to continue this in public. if you have something else to say to me, PM me for other people's sake
