I always think a Margarita will make me feel I am somewhere warm in the middle of the winter but it doesn't.Coconuts wrote:I don't like margaritas or cheeseburgers- does that mean I'm not a real phan?
It's only tastey to me when it really is sunny and hot out.
Same thing with Corona or Landshark.
Had a few yesterday in the sun, blocked from the wind, and it felt just right.
Tried one with a lime today, but it didn't do the trick.
My "real" beer went much better with the weather.
RM does work though.
Cheeseburger? Just reminds me of JB--John Belushi, not Jimmy.
I don't care how many times I hear the man sing it, but if I were at CIP I would probably try something more maritime or tropical to get into the Margaritaville groove.

No, but it might mean you haven't had the right margarita or cheeseburger.Coconuts wrote:I don't like margaritas or cheeseburgers- does that mean I'm not a real phan?
Hank Hill : Just in case I'm incapacitated for some reason, do you know how to start a man's heart with a downed power line?
Bobby: No.
Hank : Well, there's really no wrong way to do it.

believe me, I had decided I didn't like margaritas, or tequila. But when I had one made from fresh juice and no mix it was a revelation. Like I said, I do like margaritas now. So give this a try. All my son used was fresh oj, lime juice and triple sec I believe.I don't like margaritas or cheeseburgers- does that mean I'm not a real phan?

I think that's the issue- I don't like orange juice, lime juice (unless it's in good key lime pie) or tequila.
And I like my meat meat flavored, not cheese flavored (but I am really picky about burgers- I don't even like them grilled).
But believe it or not, I'm really not a picky eater- I just don't like the stuff I'm supposed to.

Hey Caly, I see you found your way to the Margarita thread!caly wrote:
what time???
We just got in from a bike ride.
Rode to the microbrew 10 miles away, heard a good band, Diane had killer Long Island Ice Teas, w/ Diet Coke of course, I stuck with their brewed on premises stuff.
Her drinks were pretty strong, good thing we rode the Tandem!
We made it back just before dark.
Where'd everybody go?
We've already called it a Sat. night.
I'm sure our daughter hasn't even decided where she is going yet.

Over on this boat you'll get:
Two or three limes, quartered and muddled very well in the bottom of the glass
Add ice
Don Julio
Grand Marnier
A bit of suger (powdered is best) to taste, just so your eyeballs don't s*** back in your head!
Shake, shake, shake, drink, drink, drink
NO mix 'round here!
Think I'll have me one right now........

My ex and I used to love to cook Mexican food - and of course he made killer Margaritas to go with them. We learned to only make them on weekends though
I would invariably wake up the next morning and follow the trail of clothes from the bedroom back to the living room. The relationship ended but I still have the fondest of memories for the Margarita nights
Nothing ruins a margarita faster than nasty booze. I'm picky about the tequila, but I like to try different ones. My favorite triple sec at the moment is Patron Citronge. The guy at the local liquor store recommended it as a more affordable, but still drinkable, substitute to Grand Marnier or Contrieau (I probably butchered the spelling on that). And the bottle is really cool-looking... always a bonus

I am *very* particular about what I dip my bait in, thankyouverymuch.Marnin Grita Guy wrote:I don't exactly understand what these "margaritas" are.
Could you please explain further?
What does one do with them? Are they some sort of pest control?
Are they some sort of liniment for sore muscles?
Could it be used to dip your bait in to attract more fish?
