can you imagine, I drink margaritas from time to time but never really like them. I tried upgraded tequila and still, nope.
While in Hatteras, one of my college sons made margaritas. He used only fresh juice, no mix. Well, I love them. It's not margaritas or tequila I didn't like. It's crappy mix. And I tried alot of brands in all price ranges.

Not only do the pre-made mixes taste bad to many, but read the lable!!
They have way too much sugar in them, and excess unneccesary calories as well.
All you need other than the booze is your favorite Orange liquer or Triple Sec, and FRESH lime.
People add other lime juices to taste, that's still good, and some add sugar.
I know a group of gals that has me put artificial sweetener in theirs, and they love the taste and allow themselves to drink more of the reduced calorie version.
As with any pre-processed foods, the mixes put in more junk than you need.
Remember, Margaritas are supposed to be GOOD for you!
Don't ruin them with a mix!

that may be part of it. I hate things to be too sweet. One of the reasons I always tried margaritas is I figured they weren't sweet due to the lime.

Here is a suggestion for excellent, easy to make, non-mix margaritas:
Minute Maid frozen lime concentrate (store brands are not good)
put lime concentrate in blender.
fill lime concentrate can 2/3 with tequila 1/3 with triple sec - put in blender
(I use Cuervo gold tequila and Hiram Walker triple sec)
fill lime concentrate can with water - put in blender
squeeze a lime into blender.
Blend
serve over ice or freeze.
You will like them, but they are fairly strong!

I got this recipe from a great book called Sweet Potato Queens:
one can frozen limeade
one can tequila
one can 7 up
one corona
pour over ice and stir
The author calls these "Fat Mama's Knock You Nekkid Margaritas"-- have made them zillions of times at parties. come to think of it, there was nudity involved at some point in the party!

My dear Mother-in-law gave my Daughter a juicer for fresh orange juice. Well I use it for margaritas. I use fresh limes, fresh oranges, Good tequlia (No quervo) Good tequila. Put the juice in a 1 gallon water container, add 1/2 bottle Good tequila, 1/2 bottle Hiram Walker triple sec, Then I add 1/2 2 liter bottle flat fresca. Mix and serve over ice. I know it sounds bad, but its not too strong. It really does taste good. I will be at Alpine Valley, so stop by and try it for free! As long as you are old enough..
It's not all killer no filler. Once again, no quervo. Good tequila.

I have tried recipes using premium blanco tequilas such as Patron Silver in place of the Cuervo and Grand Marnier in place of the Hiram Walker. They are a little smoother and a little sweeter, but I prefer a margarita to have a little edge to it; so I'll stick to the Cuervo and triple sec. All a matter of personal preference

I don't exactly understand what these "margaritas" are.
Could you please explain further?
What does one do with them? Are they some sort of pest control?
Are they some sort of liniment for sore muscles?
Could it be used to dip your bait in to attract more fish?

I have NEVER seen anyone who could drink as many of my margaritas as MGG can - and still stand
