Anyone else have a hammock??

Post by carey24 »

After much debate between mayan, brazilian, rope, canvas, spreader bars, no spreader bars, etc.... I settled on a hammock from El Salvador and couldn't be happier. It's got spreader bars, but alot more material than traditional hammocks, so it really wraps around you and there's no falling out of it. I love it!

(and it's dog-friendly!)

I plan on getting a mayan one when I go to Mexico later this year... Hadn't really had a place to put one before, but now have the perfect spot right next to my pond.

Not a fan.... hammocks are impossible to get in and out of gracefully... LOL

I prefer a chaise lounge or better yet... a rafter in the pool! 8)

I have a canvas one on a portable (in a bag) easy-up frame... along the lines of the popular bagged camp chairs.

It does the trick around these parts, but it doesn't compare to one between the palmin trees, overlooking the ocean. Even with eyes closed and active imagination, I can't quite get there! 8)

I have two. One made of rope, one made of canvas.
Both were bought at WAL MART. :D

They get about four months worth of use, and the rest of the time they're in storage in this arctic wasteland.

amen, my sistah !
I've hurt myself trying to get into and STAY in one.
The hubby made me a wooden padded lounge....it's wide enough and comfortable enough to lay out on and sleep on !

We have one, but it sucks and we're replacing it this summer. I think we've gotten an hour of use out of it (the side ropes are really tight, and the middle isn't- there's only about an inch of clearance between my butt and the grass- and it's supposed to be a two person hammock).

Hank: Uh, hi, Homer. What can I do for you?
Homer: Sir, I need to know where I can get some business hammocks.
Hank: Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks! Homer, there's four places. There's the Hammock Hut, that's on third.
Homer: Uh-huh.
Hank: There's Hammocks-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There?
Homer: Mm-Hmm.
Hank: That's on third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the hammock complex on third.
Homer: Oh, the hammock district.
Hank: That's right
Dumb and drunk as I was, you know I would do it all again.
