0 for 1....not sure if I will ever get married
again, but who knows. As some of you have
pointed out so eloquently, there are some great
marriages out there!

Just once. 22 years and counting. :D

Got a late start...didn't marry until I was 31. I figure that was a good thing. I, um, don't think you always make the best choices when you are 19.

Just gotta say, this is an interesting thread, surprising, I figured I was pretty much, as they say (actually had a woman say this to me), "damaged goods", but hey, not so much today 8)

Never did it. Once engaged but I knew, although he was wonderful, I didn't love him. Poor guy, I made him ask my dying father for permission.

The ones I did love never made a commitment. :(

At this stage of my life I don't know that I'd ever do it. Of course who knows what would happen if I met THE one. [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Mom and dad married just BARELY 50 years before dad passed away. So much for good history.....

Me...
Once for 6 years (was WAY too young)

More importantly had an 11 year non-marriage relationship, that split took me to the cleaners emotionally. Been single for 9 years now and neither relationship soured me on another one, which I'm grateful for. I feel blessed to have been so in love twice in my life even though neither one ended up being forever. I now take my cue from one of my favorite songs
"If it doesn't work out there'll never be any doubt that the pleasure was worth all the pain!"

Interesting thread for sure.

2 times

First marriage lasted almost 8 years. We were so young and head strong and learned so much.

Second one is going on 30 years...

Only 32 years, our secret to long marriages, hubby works 3rd shift and I work days, so we only see each other about 4 hours a day. Hard to get tired of each other at that rate.

that was the same recipe we had for the first 30 years. but from time till a year ago we went cold turkey into him being with me almost 24 hrs a day. big lifestyle change.
fortunately, by the time it changed we had both mellowed enough that it works.

One of the decisions I'm proudest of, and this may sound weird, is that I turned down a proposal from someone else, but I just "knew" he wasn't Mr. Right, even though I loved him.

Uncle Mickey and I have been married for ten years now...he never wanted to wear a wedding band (in his line of work, it would actually be dangerous) so last year he had a wedding band tatooed on his ring finger. Now he can NEVER forget me! 8)
Aaaawwwww!
I'm gonna cry...
(...'cuz I know how tattooing can hurt...)
That is so cool!

I'd say "Keep him!"
