so scariest case, they are all looking at a capital charge, with the 13 year old even worse off (if such a possibility exists)pbans wrote:I was curious, so I looked it up....age of consent in LA is 17....rednekkPH wrote:Honestly, I have no idea, that was just the impression I was under.LIPH wrote:I'm not a criminal lawyer, I was just throwing something out there.
Sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 13 is illegal regardless of the age of the defendant. There are some age difference formulas, but those are only figured on victims 14 and over.
It will be an interesting case to watch......bizarre...and yes, a little disturbing.
This is absolutely disturbing!

right, tho a good "law and order" prosecutor with an eye toward higher office.. which is the part about "scariest case"pbans wrote:okay....I read a little further....in LA it is aggravated rape to have sex with a child under the age of 13.....so yeah, in theory, they could face a capital offense....in reality....highly unlikely.

I have to assume it was not "intercourse". Assuming it was oral sex...and more likely, as someone else pointed out...the girl performing it on the boys.
I was shocked to hear about how lightly kids take oral sex...as if it is like shaking hands. Thank you, Mr. Clinto...it is not sex.
There is a "rite of passage" that I have heard happens at Bar Mitzvahs....each girl wears a different color lip stick...you can guess the rest!

And where are the parents? Who leaves a group of 13 year olds unsupervised? I can assure you this didn't happen at the Bar Mitzvahs of the sons of my friends.kitty wrote:I have to assume it was not "intercourse". The parents are busy partying themselves and this occurs in the bathroom, from what I am told. My boys have been to about 20 between them...and I ask a lot of questions. I also smell them when I pick them up....you know how easy it is to drink alcohol at one of these big shin digs???Brown Eyed Girl wrote:And where are the parents? Not to defend Clinton, but the girls mentioned in the article were about 1 year old when Clinton was receiving the services of Ms. Lewisnky...somehow I doubt the event had any bearing on their moral development.

legend is passed down through generations...thinking that "oral sex" is not really sex was learned during that whole scandal...and that knowledge was passed down.rednekkPH wrote:kitty wrote:I was shocked to hear about how lightly kids take oral sex...as if it is like shaking hands. I am not blaming Clinton for young girls moral developement...but I do blame him for making oral sex seem less than what it is.

Kids, and esp. girls have not considered oral sex, as sex... since the Clinton era.
when the Clinton thing was going on, it was being discussed between the kids..in the 2nd grade.
boys have been caught in the rest rooms having oral sex with each other, as young as 2nd grade.
your geographic location has absolutely nothing to do with this.
finding blame isn't going to change anything either.
some 11 & 12 year old girls find it rather amusing, the whole blow job thing...
some of the boys are all for it...for some of the boys, though, it really frigtens them.
I don't like to think about what it's actually doing to them, phycologically, but I suspect it's harming some of them.
they're pushed to grow up, dressed like they are adults, then when they act like this everyone wonders why.
very few 6th graders have a playground or playground equipment...
some parents are in total shock and complete disbelief when they learn what some of their lil'darlings have been up to.
doesn't seem like they get to be kids/children very long anymore...

I don't think this can be blamed on any one person, but society as a whole. Television, film, music videos, and music promotes promiscuity and the sexualization of females in our society. Look back to when we were growing up...what was acceptable on TV? And what is acceptable now? Girls gone wild and the adoration of women who are willing to bare all just to get a few moments of attention. Reality TV...."The Real World" started off as a really cool show that showed young adults living together while pursuing their dreams. Now its about the alcohol and the hook ups. Look at our role models for young girls in particular. Britney, Paris, Lindsey - all have found themselves in situations that back in the day would have destroyed their careers. Instead the paparazzi continue to follow them becasue we continue to buy the magazines that make them so popular. WE have allowed this to happen as we accept what they dish out to us in the media. I believe WE have created this monster.

Gotta disagree with the "Slick Willie" angle. His episode has nothing to do with this new "attitude".kitty wrote:legend is passed down through generations...thinking that "oral sex" is not really sex was learned during that whole scandal...and that knowledge was passed down.rednekkPH wrote:kitty wrote:I was shocked to hear about how lightly kids take oral sex...as if it is like shaking hands. This has more to do with the "I'm having safer sex this way" and being able to claim sexual activity to their peers without sacrificing virginity and the moral high gound (!!)
