Guesstimations would tell me the announcement should come within the next week or 2. A man can hope anyway . . .
Hoepfully next week after I am able to assume a windfall of cash from Ebay and book a nice posh room somewhere other than the currently planned Hooters . . . Though hooters was Nice!

The Parrot Dice Lounge kinda like a mirage. Here today and gone tomorrow. You should stop by and say hello when visiting Chicago on tour.

Another inexpensive option that is pretty nice is the Tuscany. It's like 2 blocks east of the strip on Flamingo. I've stayed there for a few shows and have never been disapointed. The past few shows I've rented a timeshare. Those are super posh and you can get some sweet deals. For last October's show, we got a 2 bedroom suite that slept 8 for $300 for the whole weekend.mjeischen wrote:Guesstimations would tell me the announcement should come within the next week or 2. Which Timeshare?! How did you hook that up. I was looking into this as a potential option. I have people looking to tag on to this trip and I don;t wanna shack up with any of my hairy H.S. buddies - so more rooms is good.ohmyhell wrote:Another inexpensive option that is pretty nice is the Tuscany. Look for a young Asian guy surrounded by a lot of hot women. That's how I found him last year.Pencil Thin wrote:How in the hell do I keep missing Ohmyhell at all of the shows. I've been at probably half of the shows that you have listed in your sig line. Hopefully we will see you at the Vegas show(s) this year!

I do, I get to go to 2 Buffett shows without getting on a plane or driving 200+ miles, I can go home and sleep in my own bed and I don't even have to drive since Penn Station is right underneath the Garden and I can just hop on the train to get home.mjeischen wrote:Asians with hot women . . . I guess you have a good point about the commute factor. I guess I could say the same for the Tinley show.
Hippo - My wife says I owe you an apology because I was drunk and kinda rude in Vegas last year. I was new to the meeting Parrothead thing and the fact that I missed Last Man standing I felt like I missed the beginning of the get together. This year I will be traveling without my wife and things will be MUCH better.

I vote for the latter, so we're good. Hoping myself to get to Vegas this year.

Pencil Thin, I'm pretty easy to spot being that I'm a dainty Asian fellow with a giant beer bong hat on! For the Vegas shows we generally hit up the Margaritaville pre party around noon and go until 4 or so and then head over to the MGM.
LIPH, my friends would be flattered to hear that you think they are an attractive lot. One of these days I need to make it to an east coast show. By the way, a couple of my friends just passed the NY bar! Yay for them!
mjeischen, I've stayed at the Fairfield Inn Grand Desert something or other. You can't book the rooms online and have to find an owner of a timeshare to rent it to you. I found someone online who's hooked us up the past few years. Search online or maybe Craigslist would be a good source too. Tuscany suites are large rooms with 2 queen beds which is cheap too. It's also relatively new so it's still nice and clean.
Go Jazz! Has anyone been watching the series so far?

I was going to add that he is the Hammered Asian guy surrounded by the very hot women! (Larry is right....and judging by Larry's avatars, he's got high standards...)ohmyhell wrote:Pencil Thin, I'm pretty easy to spot being that I'm a dainty Asian fellow with a giant beer bong hat on!

Ohmyhell is truly an amazing sight to behold- a show in himself. Hard to miss that poster child for an excessivley good time. Wouldn't be Vegas without him! See you there Ohmy!Pencil Thin wrote:How in the hell do I keep missing Ohmyhell at all of the shows. I've been at probably half of the shows that you have listed in your sig line. Speaking of Vegas- I'm wondering if Jimmy might be doing more than just two shows in Vegas this October being that no other Western venues (besides Hollywood??) are even on the radar?
There's wind in our hair
And there's water in our shoes
It's been a lovely cruise.

I'm pretty sure our crew would waste...I mean spend, more drinking and gambling fun money in Sin City than good ol' Bette's fans.

www.vrbo.com is a great site to find places to rent from owners. Never used it for Vegas, but they have listings on there.
So, how packed is Margaritaville before the Vegas show? And tell me more about the after party. Is is usually put on by the same club/group? I have never been to Vegas for a show, but this is supposed to be the year !
Now all we need are dates !

Last year we went to Margaritaville the night before the concert at about 6:00 and it was pretty much jumpin' with PH's until about 9:30. Not sure where they all went after that.
Maybe they went for a bite to eat (we eventually did) to get ready for Nadirah Shakoor's show at 11:00, it was pretty crowded again by then.

Buffett in Vegas is an event.
I believe Friday Night was "Last Man Standing" which is the Las Vegas Parrothead club party at Tommy Rockers. THEN there was Nadirah at Margaritaville. Saturday was jam packed as well . . .
Hooters had an awesome Pre-Party at like 10 or 11am and a post party. Hooters was a great setting and has a tremendous Buffett feel out by the pool. At about 1pm started the MArgartivalle pre-party. Then there was an MGM pool party. It was crazy.
I enjoyed Hooters party the most. They had a great band - Stars on The Water and Fingers even showed up. There was a silent auction and freebie beads being handed out.
It was this party that is keeping kind of looking at Hooters for my stay.
There is not much time on Saturday to do much but drink, dance, and sing.
