Sell left over Disney Fast Passes on ebay.
how does one obtain 'left over' passes? From my experience, unless you have an active ticket for today, you can not get a fast pass.

you don't have to share your industry secrets, just thought I'd ask. would be nice to have extras while you're in the park too.

I dug back through the Tour Dates thread and found this post from Captain P on May 16th, 2006:

"I can 98% confirm the October 21st Vegas date, because I know someone who already has tickets through a connection of hers. In fact, if I can pull it off, I have a ticket already promised to me as well."

So, we had a very strong rumor by mid-May last year.

Then on June 7th, this post from zydecoldsmobile:
"Here's the best proof Vegas in October is a reality: check the major hotels for the weekends of October 21 and 28...a sharp spike in rates is what you will find, in particular the MGM Grand. Not a discounted night a day before or after! The hotels know 20,000 parrotheads are coming!"

So, still just a rumor by June.

Then this post by KYPARROTHEAD on August 11th:
"Vegas is the 21st and 28th

I've got confirmation from two sources in the buffett organization, and from the one of the hotels in vegas they are legit dates. I have already booked plane tickets and hotel if that tells ya how sure i am

See ya there!"

So, you are right, we didn't really know until August last year.

I know who CaptianP was getting his info from last year, and she's already saying the same basic thing. So I believe it, and with the posted info from last year, about hotel prices going up in early June...I'm startin' to think about booking now.

What's the worst that can happen? I end up going to Vegas in October and not seeing Jimmy? I think I can still find something to do.

btw, I'm looking at going the first weekend (whenever that it  )

I'm looking for an "official" announcement. If I didn't care so much about going to this show I would just book the dates. We can all sit and speculate. No biggie but no need to try and p*** in my wheaties either.
The Parrot Dice Lounge kinda like a mirage. Here today and gone tomorrow. You should stop by and say hello when visiting Chicago on tour.

The problem with this approach for me is I am would gamble my ass away. The Buffett weekend allows alot of extracurriculars.

I *did* say you were right. :D

I predict we'll meet in Margaritaville Las Vegas on Friday night October 19th, 2007 and I will buy you a Top Shelf Margarita on the rocks, extra salt!

I'm just a man with a simple dream and desire to book this trip before my wife changes her mind.

So for fun I called Hooters Hotel and Casino. They had the big parties last year around the shows .. . . I called rather unsuspectingly expressing my interest in wanting to book a room for their Jimmy Buffett parties. I was only told to call back in late July they had no info yet.

Another interesting twist . . . IF nothing is currently booked for a venue and Jimmy just inked a deal with Harrah's would Jimmy look to brand loyalty and go with a venue other than MGM? I'm not sure Harrah's has a property to accomodate the size he is used to. The only one that comes to mind is Ceasar's because of the events they have hosted in the past but that was more boxing outside. I believe the Coloseum venue took the space though - that theatre only seats 4k.

Hoepfully next week after I am able to assume a windfall of cash from Ebay and book a nice posh room somewhere other than the currently planned Hooters . . . Though hooters was Nice!
Another inexpensive option that is pretty nice is the Tuscany. It's like 2 blocks east of the strip on Flamingo. I've stayed there for a few shows and have never been disapointed. The past few shows I've rented a timeshare. Those are super posh and you can get some sweet deals. For last October's show, we got a 2 bedroom suite that slept 8 for $300 for the whole weekend.
Yep, i endorse the tuscany as well.......

Hey mj... I truly appreciate your sky-high enthusiasm for Jimmy in Vegas. I've felt the very same way over the last 7 yrs of seeing him there.

My best guess on this...as has already been surmised... is that Jimmy's doing the 10/20 & 10/27 at MGM with Hollywood (and/or Irvine or San Diego) added in between. I really don't understand the Hollywood gig with all the legal constraints, lack of history, etc- but who knows what kind of sweetener was added to that deal.

I lost my inside guy at the MGM last year - and believe me they are all given their marching orders to keep all inside info on the down low- so it's a waiting game for the next couple of weeks or so for actual confirmation...8)

There was a guy on the board last year who was setting up deals at the Hooters Hotel. I just looked some some of the 10/21 thread from last year, but didn't find him.

Now I'm thinking there was another thread, so I'll have to search back further. He may not have any info, but maybe he does???

OK, I found it, I haven't reached out to him yet, but here's what he said in a thread about the Hooters pre and post parties for both weekends last year.

Again, I don't know that he'll know anything about this year....yet....but maybe I'll send him an e-mail.
Tropo Trav wrote:I am putting together the pre parties both Oct 21 & 27th. These are the follow ons to the old parties at the now defunt Key Largo.
Both Saturdays there will be a pool party at Hooters featuring "Stars on the Water". They start at 11:00AM. Oct 21 I will hold a silent auction to benefit Singing for Change. I have been promised autographed items from Jimmy as well as cool stuph from Corona, M Ville and Taraula Tequila.
Both Saturdays after the Buffett concert I am hosting an "Encore" phlocking at Hooters. "Stars" will be in the house! I have a very special guest sitting in on Oct 21 as well. You really need to be there.
For more details (and a GREAT PH rate at Hooters for a room) call me at 919-325-9049 or contact me at tropotrav@earthlink.net
Mike
And looking at all the dates and info from last eyar, we're still a good bit away from getting any details. Tickets went on sale last year on August 21.

I remember his posts and the room rates then weren't fantastic. I wonder what the cancellation policy is on these rooms at Hooters. I may just book a few weekends and cancel what I don;t need.
