I always thought it was his brother in law Tom McGuane.

Wow.....I didn't know most of those videos existed!
The Homemade Music video is cheesy, but FUN!
Nice way to spend a few minutes on a Sunday morning!

Are you asking about the actor in Homemade Music? The one who is most recognizable is Judge Reinhold. The video was made in 1988, directed by Jeff Stein. As Jimmy explains it, he had been making a few music videos, some directed by Michael Nesmith (great guy! one of the Monkees.) But the videos weren't being played on TV the way they had hoped and decided not to do anymore. Then he ended up in Hollywood, with actors and a Hollywood director, and made Homemade Music.
All of the videos on the page are from the VHS called Jimmy Buffett - Tales From Margaritavision. It was made in 2000 and Jimmy tells the stories of each video.

If I had been paying attention and more awake, I would have noticed the title of the thread to know which video you were asking about. I watched the intro Jimmy did for Take Another Road, with his explanation of how the song and video came about. He asks himself, "Let's see.... anybody in here; no, there's no famous people in this video. Just the horse. Spot."
Earlier in the VHS Jimmy mentions that they used friends and family for most of the videos.
Later today I will watch the entire VHS again and if the actor is mentioned at any other point, I'll let you know.

Yeah, I've watched it and he doesn't mention the actor as far as I know.

I really wish Mailboat would re-release this on DVD with ALL JB's videos to date.
Or, better yet, re-release an expanded BBBB with DVDs containing all the music videos and lots of interviews, never-before-seen footage, and documentaries!
WINK WINK, MAILBOAT; this would be even MORE $$$ in the bank!
