Hey all,
Pretty excited...I just got tickets for my first ever Little Feat show this summer. I've been wanting to see them for a few years now.
Anybody have any impressions from their Little Feat experiences? Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes are opening up for them. I've never seen them before either. Could be a fun show.

Yeah that sounds good to me. I like a little jam in my musical diet. Due to scheduling conflicts I probably won't make my annual journey to see the Allmans this summer....so the Feat will be a nice replacement.

Saw them in 2000 or 2001 at the Harvest Fest at Swannee and it was good. However, it was only an hour show during the day, so I imagine their own show will be much better.
From talkin on another post of yours, you can probably tell I enjoy the long jams as well.

Little Feat is a great live band, you're in for a treat.
I've seen Southside twice, the first time was about 25 years ago and the second time was last year at BB King's. I could never understand why they didn't hit it really big, they're better than most of the crap that passes for music these days.

Yeah it should be fun. I was gonna buy tickets for the Hampton Beach show but then they just announced the same bill down here in Hyannis at the Melody Tent which is a shorter drive for me. Ticket prices are very reasonable for 2 great bands.

Little Feat just played BB King's last month, tickets were $25.

Now this is a great concert. Southside Johnny knows how to rock. I have to agree that they should have hit it big but there is no accounting for the corporate music business.
Little Feat also puts on a great show. Some serious jamming happens at every show, along with some really terrific music. I've seen Feat several times ranging back to the late 70's to last year and I've never regretted it.
Go forth and have lots of fun.

I saw them in Baltimore and Ram's Head last summer. Like everyone else said, it's a great a show. That night they played a 24 minute version of "Dixie Chicken'.

The last time I saw them they did Dixie Chicken, jammed for a few minutes, did a verse of Get Up, Stand Up, jammed a little more, did a verse from another song that I can't remember right now, jammed again, then finally came back around to Dixie Chicken.

So Little Feat out at the Chicken Box in Nantucket last summer. Really good time. There was even a very special guest in attendance.

Yeah I would have liked to have gotten out there for one of those shows last summer. I'm sure it was a good time. I wonder if Peter Gammons will be in attendance this year....I know he's a big fan.
There's a video floating around on youtube that was created by Little Feat which chronicled their journey out to Nantucket.

The Feat have a great recording community. If you talk to some of the guys before the show or during intermission you can usually work a deal for the concert recording. I always take may list of shows and ask for a trade.
Good luck, enjoy the show!

As an aside, friends of mine who are now married, first met when they were asked to open for Little Feat in Buffalo some years ago. They were both musicians who were just getting started and were asked if they could perform together as an opening act. They talked about and decided that they could and have been performing together ever since. The are a great folk duo that live in Boulder and play all over the country. If you get a chance to see The Winstons (Andy and Cheryl) don't miss out. They are fun and talented and be sure to ask them about Little Feat.
