This morning I was headed over to an enrollment center to register my daughter for kindergarten. I was a bit stressed because the school that we want (public, mind you) is very popular I'd heard there was already a waiting list. I was listening to our local radio station play a program they call "10 @ 10" (10 great songs from one great year) and the year was 1979. Just as I'm pulling up to the enrollment center, a soundbite says, "And now for something completely different" and they launch into "Boat Drinks"! I was just grinning from ear to ear!
By the way, I immediately called into the station and voted "Boat Drinks" for best of set. Apparently, I was not the only Parrothead listening to the show because it won Best of Set!!!
Oh - and yeah - we got the elementary school that we wanted. Whew!

Yep, it was KFOG. And they rarely play Jimmy despite numerous requests from this Foghead. That's why I switch to Radio Margaritaville in the afternoon.
Happily listening to the Buffett Buffet as my work day winds down.

Well I also remember when KFRC was the 1# Station [/quote]
I remember KFRC. We actually used to be able to faintly pick it up during thunderstorms when I was growing up in Oregon. Must have been some weird atmospheric conditions in play.
