Def Leppard/Foreigner/Styx announce summer tour

Post by MonumentBeach »

It looks like Asia dropped out of their planned tour with Foreigner and Styx this summer and Def Leppard is taking over as the headliner...

http://www.livedaily.com/news/Def_Leppa ... 2.html?t=1

Should be an interesting mix of fans showing up for this tour. Def Leppard and Foreigner/Styx were really on opposite ends of the musical spectrum in the 80's as far as their styles went?

Def Leppard still does.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

Styx only has 2 members left. JY and Tommy Shaw.

They kicked out front man Dennis Deyoung ( who used to live only 2 mins from the venue in tinley park. because he was having problems dealing with the lights.

Mick Jones is the only member left of Foreigner, Lou Gramm's career has crashed to the point where he will be headlining the local "Taste of Enfield" bash here on July 4th weekend.

Too bad for Lou.....he used to have one of the best voices leading a R&R band back in late 70's through the 80's....but I seen/heard him on a PBS taped concert from a couple years back and his voice was totally trashhhhhhhhed!!! The Foreigner debut album still ranks as one of the best first albums in R&R history IMHO.

Yeah. Should be an interesting show. I'd love to hear the report on how it was.

Probably had a breakdown when his son came home in a pink polk a dot tutu while hanging out at Denny's one night. ( Yes I did see him in it, and it was horrific.)

To hear three bands with some significant radio hits in the late 70's and 80's. I think Styx and Foreigner s*** but I know they still pull the over 40 crowd. More power to them. The more rock and roll we keep touring, the less likely we are to wake up to a world of Nickelback and Akon.
