Soundtrack for your life?
While chatting with a new found friend, I mentioned that I've always felt my life has a soundtrack. Not only the music I've chosen to listen to based on my various moods, but many times it seems that what is playing on the radio (or RM) fits perfectly. This started when I moved back to my hometown in Junior High, and as I was being driven to school the radio was playing some song about being back (or, how does it feel to be back) or something. I remember thinking it was a fitting song at that moment. As I've gotten older (and older, and older
), it seems like these moments have became fairly common. I am fully aware that the universe doesn't revolve around me, but it seems as if something out there is fairly regularly reminding me of my place in it. Have any of you ever noticed something like this? Inquiring minds want to know
. Peace
Live. Love. Laugh. Repeat.

I don't even know where to start.....
It's always seemed weird that when I am in a certain situation, and turn on the radio....how it just fits what is happening!
Coming home from the hospital with my daughter.....(and I had never , ever NEVER heard anything but SYKBH on the Charleston radio stations)....one of the DJ's had just given birth to a baby girl..and "Little Miss Magic" played.......
I know there are a gazillion more...have to think on this one a while....

Yes, definitely. my soundtrack is on my ipod. Lots of Jimmy, Bruce, Billy Joel, Eagles, Bon Jovi, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, lots of 70's and 80's classic rock I have been downloading lately, Beach Boys. And certain songs on the radio will take me back to a place in time- particularly the decade channels on XM. I also always have a "song of the summer" and when I hear one from many years ago it always takes me back.

I wish I could claim Schoolboy Heart as the song that best describes my life...Hopefully someday I'll get that license to fly...
I don't want to live on that kind of island
No, I don't want to swim in a roped off sea.
Too much for me, too much for me
I've got to be where the wind and the water are free.

Bryan Hayes and the Retreivers actually have a song called "Soundtrack" talking about music and our lives. It's my fave song of theirs. They have done several book signings with me including the one down at LuLu's. The song is on their myspace page.

hmmmmm this is definitely something to think about....
I can remember "Thunder Road" being my favorite when I was a senior in high school:
"It's a town full of losers-- pulling outta here to win"
For the most part, it's my old beach music album-- a compilation called "The Preppy Album."
interesting... a very reflective topic...

I have a soundtrack and a theme song. "Incommunicado"
I also give others theme songs that play in my head when I see them. For instance, my boss the lawyer. . ."Lawyers, Guns and Money" I just hope the sh--- doesn't hit the fan. Working in the dog industry. . .that could get messy.
