do you wear high heels often? Are you good at walking in them? I haven't worn them for awhile, but bought a great pair of clog like heels. Put them and thought, woah. I need to practice. Any tips? I want to wear them on Sat. night.

NEVER wore really high heels. Sooooo bad for your feet and back. Have a few medium heels for special occasions. In the position I'm in at work, it's flats or 1" heel. But I can still walk in the high stuff if I have to. Just take slow and deliberate steps. :)

I know, that's one of the reasons I never really wore them. Plus I'm tall and didn't want to be even taller. But I fell in love with a pair of heels and damn my ankles I'll wear them for at least one night. But I have to practice first.

I make sure my shoulders are back and I take long strides- the shoulders keep me in balance, and the strides keep my feet far apart so I don't tangle them (and I have to take fewer steps, which makes my feet happy).

I try really hard to not wear high heels. I have a few lower heels for occasional use but give me my flip flops.

Speaking for the guys, we love women in heels. We know they hurt and are hard to walk in, but you look SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD in them. If you're not tall and they make you tall, great. If you're already tall and they make you taller, great. We really appreciate it when you dress up and show yourself off a little bit.

Now, the dingy flannel PJs at bedtime... not so much. :o

(Please insert appropriate "male chauvinist" insult here. )

I have several pairs of "one hour" shoes.......I love a nice pair of FMPs.....
well, love the way they look.....not so much the way they feel.

Wear them around the house for a half hour or so at a time, you'll feel more confident by Saturday!

As far as walking in them........I agree....head up, shoulders back, boobs up and out.....off you go.........and you will be SMOKIN' hot!

i have a few pairs...i would suggest you don't drink too much so you don't roll an ankle... and i agree....practice at home a lil bit so you feel comfortable...

Since our offices went business casual and I work in a resort area to boot I only pull them out once in a great while. I always complain but I secretly love the way they make my legs look!

Practice a bit and don't drink too much is about the best advice I've seen here.

hee hee hee FMP'S! We call them CFM's here [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Have you seen the ones that are platform wedge heels? Not the real high ones. They are really comfortable and I have wore them all day at work. Make sure you have the right size also. Women tend to wear shoes too small and that would make the shoe hurt all the more quickly!

It helps also to say "Wow, I look really hot in these shoes!" :D

heels have never been my forte. i was a clutz from conception on, so the world is safter that way. when i wear heels, it's usually wedges, or platforms at best--something thick, so i don't fall over.

I avoid them if at all possible, but will wear them to dress up events.
They are sooo bad for your feet and your back (and I have a bad back).

I will wear low heels, but since I don't work outside the home, I generally wear flats.

Don't own any. I can hurt myself with falls without them

And I've never had a thing for being uncomfortable....

Remember the old trick (I think they use it on debutants LOL) - keep a book balanced on your head as you walk? Well keep that "feeling" in your head when you walk (that's the only way I could think of to describe it LOL).

After about 20 years of walking in 3+ inch heals 12 hours a day/5 days a week - my feet are pretty much ruined so I don't normally wear heals to work any more but on the occasional night out, wedding, event, etc. I do still wear them

I can wear wedges. These are platform like clogs. They shouldn't be so tough to walk in but i'm a clutz.

OK, it took me a minute to figure out you were saying platform like CLOGS - my eyes must be going - I thought it said DOGS

Total klutz to begin with - my middle name is Grace cause it's the only grace I would ever have

Wore some 3 inchers not too long ago for a dress up bday dinner with my dad. Practiced . . . and then decided to stop focusing on the fact that I was wearing them and had a drink of wine . . . no problems thereafter!

Speak for yourself, I'll take cowboy boots over high heels everytime.
