I'm been wondering that myself ever since the show was announced.
I might have to go just in case he does.

I don't know how many people know who Tom Waits is, but I know who he is. Jersey Girl would be nice to hear.

I'd like to hear Atlantic City in Atlantic City too!

Listening to the Tom Waits version of Jersey Girl now and have Bruce ready to play next. Of course I had to listen to The Piano Has Been Drinking first.

And before anyone who isn't familiar with Tom Waits gets confused, the line I quoted is from Step Right Up.

I just checked my iPod, I only have 2 Tom Waits songs on there - Downtown Train and Cold, Cold Ground. I thought I had more than that, I have 3or 4 of his CDs.

Downtown Train was also covered by Phila based Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers. He had a good thing going (20 years ago) until the record label axed the Rumblers.

Is there either a NJ Transit or an Amtrak station in Atlantic City and how far is it from the Boardwalk area? Or would I be better off driving down from LI if I decide to go?

I don't know about the train. i have never take the train there always driven or take a bus. But i do know there are a few bus companies that run back and forth from the Port Authority terminal.

There is both NJ Transit(bus) all points and also Amtrak Train service from Philadelphia, the bus station is 3 blocks from the beach the train station 5-6 blocks from the beach.

Also if you decide to take bus from Port Authority some of them including Greyhound will take you directly to a given casino, and give you a coin voucher $10-$20 for that casino.

You can still catch Tommy either on 105.7 the Hawk or occasionally at the Stone Pony. He still performs, just not like he did back when.
Still missing the Hooters, Robert Hazard and the Heroes, The Zebras......all from Philly.
