Adaptation of margarita recipe for Frozen Concoction maker

Hey, everyone!

I have been using the easy margarita recipe I found on this site for my "rocks" margaritas with fabulous success. Everyone loves them.

That recipe is:
1 can Minute Maid frozen limeade from concentrate
3/4 can tequila
1/4 can triple sec
1 can water
blend and server over ice

Well, my sister got us a Margaritaville Frozen Concoction maker for our anniversary and I only had a few days to play around with it before we had guests.

Of course, they wanted FROZEN margaritas since they wanted to the see machine strut its stuff.

The trick to that is it automatically mixes in enough ice to nicely fill one, two or three 12 oz glasses when you use the recipes included with the machine.

I wanted to use the same recipe as I do for rocks drinks, so I did a little (very little!) math and came up with the following, which filled 3 glasses to perfection.

1 6 oz can Minute Maid frozen limeade from concentrate
3/4 can tequila
1/4 can triple sec
set the concoction maker to 3 drinks and fire it up!

p.s. The recipe I found here actually called for 2/3 can tequila and 1/3 can triple sec, but I thought it tasted better with a little more tequila.

Also, I've substituted cointreau for triple sec, which is well worth the trouble IMO.

How long does it take to whip up a pitcher? I've seen the FCM in the stores and it looks and feels solid. Do you think it could handle large parties?

Well, all the measuring takes time and it is a pain with a big group if they all want something different.

Someone on here (blondn6ft I think) has solved this at her tiki bar by only offering a limited menu of drinks and mixing them in pitchers beforehand.

Then you just have to fill the blender to the 1, 2 or 3 drink line.

That would make it quite a bit faster.

I still think it's best suited for 2 or 3.

Yeah, you just fill it to the 1, 2 or 3 drink line, turn the dial to match and hit the switch.

It shaves and blends while you rim the glasses, then you just pour.

Fast.
