Landshark Lagers Sponsorship

Post by mjeischen »

So now that we have 2 shows under our belt with our new "Exclusive" sponsor, how are they being featured.

Landshark Lager is not available in the big markets yet. Are they selling it at the shows? Are they sampling it at the shows?

What is the Landshark impact/presence on the current tour?

I was just interested in how that was being handeled. I mean they are out marketing the beer in markets where it is not currently being sold. I figured they would try something similar to the Margaritaville SHrimp food line and set up a sampling both.

At least they are selling it at the shows . . . . So come 7/21 I should be able to try some.

I tried it at the Atlanta show, $6.50... It was ok but I had been drinking since 11am. It was being sold everywhere inside, didn't see outside anywhere.

LSL is brewed by Budweiser in JAX. It comes only in a clear bottle...It still tastes too much like a watered down Amstel to me and is way overpriced and overhyped IMHO. I think it is 8 dollars a six pack in Florida. Pretty pricey for a domestic macrobrew. Anyway, the advertising is good for it and by the looks of it, there was not as many Corona's in the parking lot this year. Corona is a marginally poor beer at best, and is overhyped to no end. It was funny to see the looks on people's faces when they saw what beer I was drinking (Yuengling) imported from SC and NC respectively. Most Atlantians have not heard of this beer and were amazed to find out that it is the oldest brewery in the US (continuous). I heard a rumor that General Wholesale was going to be the distributor in ATL for it, but have yet to see it at any outlets.

I've tasted beer, I don't like beer, it tastes like beer. So, I didn't go looking for the Landshark booth last night. They had plenty of shrimp and were making VIRGIN margaritas with the blender and serving them in a Margaritaville Tequila Dixie cup. If I'd done what you guys told me to do and filled my little plastic fruit thingy's with tequila and tied 'em on to my lei, I'd have been set.

The balloon guys were also making landshark hats for you (a blue oval and a yellow fin). Apparently there were a lot of AB VIP's ... the center floor section of rows 1-30?? were full of the landshark balloon hats.

Yuengling is a great beer and I sure do wish it was available here. You can get it is Florida and Alabama. Landshark isn't bad just a bit overpriced. I had it in Florida last weekend and at the concert last night. Tastes like Corona with a bit more flavor. :pirate:

From the land of the original Yuengling brewery, I salute you!! :D

Seriously, around here you just go to ANY restaurant or bar and ask for "A Lager", and they give you Yuengling. There IS no other kind.....lol. Which is pretty lucky. When i interned in Syracuse during college, the sales reps and corporate mgrs. would BEG me and my friend from PSU to bring them back a case if we happened to go home for the weekend. Too funny.

They now have a "Lager Light" (for those like myself who love beer, but the beer doesn't love my waistline) which I just tried, and it's pretty darn good. I was pleasantly surprised.

Two weeks ago in FL I noticed Yuengling EVERYWHERE!
Had some on tap at Rusty's in Port Canaveral, but it was past it's prime.
Tried it again at Deerfield Beech, and it was O.K.
Cheapest I ever saw a six pack of Landshark was at the Sunrise Marina Bait and Tackle shop in Port Canaveral. $6.20 out the door! I think they mis-priced it below their own cost.

I like variety.
AB products in cans on sale in 24 packs w/ rebate are the best value in beer period.
All others are overpriced, with the exception of high quality microbrews.
That doesn't stop me from enjoying the different tastes that are available.
Nothing else tastes like a Corona ( even though it is a mediocre taste),
and nothing tastes quite like a Landshark.
Some people get so locked into a specific taste that they will order a bottle of Bud for $3.00 during happy hour at a brew pub while pints of the finest brewed on premises stuff is going for $2.00.
Their loss.
