JB beach ball comment in Atlanta

Post by coconuttelegraph »

About halfway through last night's show a "happy face" beach ball made its way up on stage between Mac and JB and stayed there for a while when JB picked it up, attempted to blow it up and said "oh look, a smiley face!" and then tossed it out to the floor. Does anyone have pics of this happening or a good close-up of the ball at rest between Mac and JB? The reason I ask is I was the one who sent that beach ball down to the floor and watched it sail up on stage. All I can say is wow what a show! Was it just me or did he tease us with the idea of at least another show next year in ATL? Phins up!

BTW, anyone get a good pic of my Buffett Cubs jersey? My camera conked out on me during the show and I think all film was lost!

Were you the guy in behind the stage with the red jersey??

Sorry, we got no pics, but you were one of the stars of the show!!

Cindy's 40th b/d in Anguilla on the jumbo tron and you in the spotlight were my fave fan moments.

Loved the beach ball, but didn't get any pics, sorry!! I'm sure you already know this, but it's so RARE for him to ever have anything nice to say about a beach ball. One the Key West cd's he goes on for 5 minutes about how much he hates them, and the knock the mike into his teeth, etc. I couldn't believe it when he picked it up and started goofin' with Mac.

Way back in the eary '90's we'd often get 2 summer shows back to back or a day in between and then a winter show to boot. That's what I'm hopin' for!

Behind the stage looked like the place to be last night. Was there a big screen for you guys?

Nope, that wasn't me ( I was up in 206) opposite end with the same Cubs jersey as he wore in Wrigley. I think that might have been Zuke up there behind the stage with his Red Sox jersey on. I tried to meet up with him for a photo op but you know how those frozen concoctions are! Very rare indeed for him to use that "prop" the way he did. I could not believe that he actually acknowledged it and involved Mac in it as well. I have a sneaking sucpiscion that someone out there has a pic or two of it or heck I would settle for a cell phone video. Phins up!

From our vantage point (5th row). Jimmy held the smilie face up in front of his face and looked at Mac. Mac seeing a Smilie faced headed Buffett.

I had never sat up close. Truly a lifetime expirence. They really looked like they were having a good time. Lots of smiles. I also noticed Mac's guitar strap had "Nobody". Jimmy's had "Somebody" written on it.

I can't believe the GOPs haven't showed up yet to remind everyone that beach balls are the work of the devil and ruin the concert experience for anyone with a blood alcohol level below 0.2

That was me behind the stage, my ticket said Section 413, but funny how things can happen, right? :o

I was going to call you about the picture, but I totally forgot! There will be another opportunity someday, I'm sure.

I flew into Atlanta at 10:10, Steve-O and Sweendog picked me up, we did the all-day party, and they returned me to the airport around 12:30. Got a pretty comfy place to sleep, and I was on the plane at 6:35 and back in Hartford at 10:30.

Nice meeting the Atlanta Buffettnewsers, thanks for the hospitality, I hope to see you all again sometime!

Well I know some people like to spend their saturday nights getting balls in their face, but I would rather just enjoy the show. :pirate:
