I know that AB has a large presense at Philips and most other Atlanta sporting/concert venues (as you can see from the large Bud/Bud Light ads in the 203-204 facade of Philips). I believe that Hi-Fi Buys has a contract deal with either Miller or Coors. I do know that at most sporting events/concerts in the Atlanta area (Turner Field, Ga Dome, Philips & Gwinnett) there is a Team Georgia designated driver signup booth. The program is heavily sponsored/underwritten by AB. I have been told that they are not allowed to have a Team Georgia booth at Hi-Fi Buys, and it may well be because of the competing brewery ties.spucketts wrote:I heard a rumor as to why the concert was held at Phillips and not Lakewood and it had something to do with Lakewoods liquor license. (Rumor came from a liquor product rep.) Either they lost it or there was a conflict with Landshark Lager being poured since Landshark isn't sold in this market. I don't know what brand is the official brand of Lakewood but they may have had a contractual problem. Lakewood is city controlled and Phillips is State controled and is therfore more flexible in what it can do.
You would think that since Landshark is a Bud product, they would have access to many different markets already but you never know when it comes to product placement. Maybe Corona is mad at the sponsorship loss.
That may well have been the issue with the Landshark sponsorship/pour ability.
