I still cannot figure out why so many NE dates year after year when there are so many places that are absolutely starving for a show!

I don't want to ever hear any griping out of anybody who lives up there about anything Buffett. You get yours every year and then some. While the rest of the country gets little to nothing. And I don't want to hear "road trip." Easy for you all to say. You get 10-12 shows a year within a 3 hour drive. If you live anywhere else in America, you're lucky to get 1-2 and it seems they are never in the summer months. Sorry to be bitter, but it is just so hard to accept because JB will not be touring much longer and the only folks that seem to still benefit are the same folks every year in the NE.

Hell, might as well call it the Boston breeze tour.

Now THAT has got to be the post of the year.
BOSTON Breeze Tour?
GOD, ALLMIGHTY, I LOVE IT!

Brooklyn
Long Island

Those poor parrotheads might actually have to drive, like 25 miles to go see him!! Thats soooooooooooooo unfair.
Neither of those 2 places are cities.

If there are 10-12 shows within a 3 hour drive of LI every year how come I spend so much time in airports? Last year there was Jones Beach, MSG, Mohegan Sun and Camden (which I never go to). That's 4, not 10-12. Last year was the first time he played Jones Beach and MSG in the same year since 1998, it was the first time he played a full concert, not one performer in a multi-act benefit show, at MSG in 5 years and he hasn't played Jones Beach 2 years in a row since 1997/98.

...interesting post. Like it or not, the northeast has a better selection of places to play- and I'm sure the travel time between cities is a plus for JB and the band. Madison Square Garden, Great Woods, Mohegan Sun, Fenway Park, Gillette Stadium, - why WOULDN"T he go back year after year? The tailgating at Great Woods is the best because the summer goes by FAST- the south, southeast, and southwest usually have comfortable temperatures year 'round. So we get a few more shows when he tours, mainly because there is a better selection for him to play. Do you really think he's thinking "I gotta get to Mississippi-that's where the bucks come in!!" ???

1. California
While I am a New England boy at heart, I can't help but be jealous of my fellow NE'ers while exiled out in CA. Not to take away from TX, but everything is bigger out here in the west. Simply saying that he is playing CA still leaves a lot of geography to be covered. It's like saying that since he is playing Georgia, everyone in Jersey should be content. Not to complain, and congrats to NE, I'm just in a buffetless funk and wish I could partake int this tour's madness.

Yeah, look at your location.

BTW Massachussets usually gets a double show and so do other cities "up there".

Massachusetts isn't a city. Other cities "up there" rarely, if ever, get 2 shows. Like I said yesterday, last year was the first time since 1998 that he played Jones Beach and Madison Square Garden in the same year. Jones Beach hasn't gotten 2 shows in a year since 1993. I don't think Madison Square Garden has ever gotten 2 shows in a year. You should at least get your facts straight if you're going to try to make a point.

what about NE PA

You folks crack me up. We go thru this every year.

The man has been touring for 35 years. I bet he played within 3 hrs of where most people live...at least once. Granted..Wy, MT, SD, ND and of course Boise may not have been as lucky as those of us in more populated areas over the years... but my goodness... lets count our blessings thast we still have concerts to go see. Save your pennies and hit the road! Or better yet.... listen for FREE on RM.

rant over..... :D

Now that the "10-12 shows" has been clarified to 4-6, lets figure why.
1) Look at a population map, see the numbers in the Northeast? Nuff said.
2) He is also playing 4 shows within a 3 1/2 hour drive for me (alpine, tinley, indy and cincy) and I dont live in the northeast.
3) Have heard he likes to set home bases on tour, like in midwest he stays in chicago during alpine and indy trips, so makes sense for a lot of NE concerts.
4) People in the NE are better than you and JB knows it

OK NE people are cooler but Southerners act more like people to other people. And i dunno, maybe Jimmy can get better deals in the NE than in the rest of the world. And sorry, but California has a ton of people too. and they are yet to get an official show. And dont tell me i'm not really grateful of Jimmy touring for us at his age. all i'm sayin is that he coudl do the same amount of shows in a fairer range and play to more people. Also, theres not that many people in NJ and Boardwalk hall looks prety small and way to up scale for a JB show. Even if i lived a block away from the Hall i wouldnt go.

It is sort of a Buffett philosphical question: am I the huge Parrot Head type because I like the music or because Jimmy has made it point to make NE a tradtion yearly with numerous shows that I can look forward to.

Honestly, if I lived somewhere else I would still like Jimmy's music but I would not be such a fan. Not so much that he plays New England way more but because he makes it perfectly clear during his shows that he feels NE is the best - it is sort of a snub to other areas . . . indirectly but it is.

First of all, I am SO SORRY about your tradegy this month...the whole country was sad. I spent most of my life in Maryland and I really feel like a neighbor.

Enough said, why would Jimmy play in the Northeast when he can play in FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After all, "It's so nice to be HOME in Florida again...."
