I actually LOVE it!! Just like anything, the more you drink of it, the more you get used to it. I should know!!

Anyway, after having had LandShark that Jimmy personally delivered on his plane to Anguilla, it tasted even better. 8)

this sounds like me in high school. when i thought that anything that got me drunk was good. and the more i drank the better it tasted. not to put you down, if you like it thats your own call, but i dont think it should be about drinking more of it to like it....

All I think was meant was that beer, like anything else, if consumed regularly will grow on you. It didn't sound like a moral position in the topic.

i see your point, maybe its just because ive had plenty of coronas and they havnt grown on me that i have trouble with this whole statement. oh well, different people like different beer :(

Personally, I could never get used to Corona. But I also think it's silly to accuse people for liking a certain kind of beer. It's just as subjective as movies, music, and books. Everyone's entitled to what they like and shouldn't have to apologize for it.

Nothing's worse than listening to a speech from a beer connoisseur about how Budweiser "isn't even beer".

Landshark Lager, though brewed by AB, tastes absolutly nothing like Bud.
It is much less carbonated, and has nothing in common tastewise with Bud, Bud light, Mic, Mic Ultra, Busch, etc.
Despite it's clear bottle, golden color, and tropical image,
it also tastes nothing like Corona.
I like variety, and smuggling Jimmy's stuff to MI from FL makes the different tasting brew a pleasent change.
Not for everyday, just for a rare and different taste.
No better, no worse, but another variety to enjoy.

again i see your point. i hope i didnt come across as accusing anybody for their beer taste. my only point was to show how i dont really think that someone should have to adjust to a beer. anyway if you like it so be-it, i just dont see myself ever liking it, or even trying it (geographically improbable). prost!

This is an OLD topic and I'm not sure why we are talking about it again.

Obviously, I am not in high school or college. What I meant was that you can get used to anything if you drink enough of it....like diet coke, etc.

I told Jimmy at a resturant in Anguilla that I was a HUGE fan of LandShark and that I probably consumed more of it than anyone else in the U.S. and he was very pleased and very grateful.

If you would like to be all high and mighty and insult Jimmy and his products on his own fan website, then go ahead.

Last I checked, we were all here to support him...

Otherwise why do we waste our time?

I think it'll be a topic of conversation for a while... just like "what happened to Fingers and Jimmy?"

I don't think anyone is insulting Jimmy - just offering their tastes in beers. :) Everyone has different tastes. I've not had the chance to try it here in Colorado. :)

Support? Sure. But I don't think 'unconditionally'. :) As it should be, IMHO.

i think this couldnt be said better. im not a fan of just because its jimmy means its good. in fact i think its incredibly demeaning to grovel and love everything he does. everyone has their mistakes. as far as doing something until you get used to it, i cant say this has worked for me that often, especially not with beer. by the way in case anybody is wondering im currently a junior in college, but there's good beer around here, so i dont have to get into the cheap stuff.
ok i need to get off this thread and study :(

Spew.

No offense, but we're also entitled to our own opinions here. We're here to discuss Jimmy, not blindly worship (although I admit there are times when the line is very, very blurry). If everyone here is supposed to like and rejoice at every little thing relating to Jimmy and his actions, we might as well start calling ourselves a political party, because that's what they do. I hope BN never comes to that.

No, no, I wasn't accusing you of accusing for beer taste. Just saying I think most of us can agree that beer elitists (like music, movie, and other kinds of elitists) are obnoxious and silly.

Also, I'm a junior in college, too. Where do you go?

Whoa, back up. Something happened between Jimmy and Fingers?? When did this happen?? Don't tell me Fingers isn't with the band anymore! What next? The horns? The lovely Coral Reefer Dancers? Oh, the inhumanity!! Ok, I'm done now. Carry on 8). Peace.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Hey, you can still hear fingers perform with A1A. Last I heard it was a difference between him and JB about the "changes" from the older days including no tix for friends, only immediate family members.

So, does this mean if we want to discuss something that's been discussed before we have to run it by you first to make sure you approve?

A bad beer will always be a bad beer, no matter how much of it you drink. You just might not notice how bad it is if you drink enough of it.

That's something to be proud of.

Saying I think Landshark is a lousy beer isn't insulting Jimmy, it's just my opinion of the beer.

Maybe that's why you're here, I'm here because I'm a fan of his music and a lot of the people who post here are my friends. There's a difference between being a fan and being a sycophant. I may like his music but that doesn't mean I like everything he does. There are some songs that always get skipped when I'm playing the CDs, there are some cover tunes he does in concert that make me cringe. I didn't think A Salty Piece Of Land was a very good book. Hoot was a lousy movie and the soundtrack was barely listenable. Some of us choose not to blindly worship Jimmy and everything he does. Your mileage may vary.

I don't always agree with LIPH's posts.

That being said, this response was dead-on. Well said, Larry.

I always laugh at marketing strategies involving taste. I =think a few years back Pepsi did the taste test and they won something like 75% of the time. What does that have to do with what I like? My or anyone else's taste is just that. Because more people prefer something else does my taste suddenly change? I never understood that logic. LIPH, you're right on with A Salty Piece Of Land. I respectfully disagree with you over Hoot though. But you sound like a guy I would enjoy having a few beers with anyway.

Sam Adams reps do that taste challenge crap at bars in the town where I go to school. Everyone thinks it's foolish and only goes along with it to get free Sam Adams gear.

We are talking about it again because everytime someone "finds" the beer they start a thread like they just found the holy grail.

We are so happy for you. I mean, really, what was the purpose of this line other to tell us that you saw Jimmy in Anguilla in a bar.

If you would like to be all high and mighty and insult Jimmy and his products on his own fan website, then go ahead.

LOL. Hardly Jimmy's product. Its a Bud product to which Jimmy sold his name. BFD. Just like the $300 Margaritaville blender that I laugh at as well. Jimmy did not design the damn thing, just sold his name.

Last I checked, we were all here to support him...

There is a fine line between "support" and idol worship.

Otherwise why do we waste our time?
