Myrtle Beach - a little help?

Hi there,
We're looking to visit Myrtle Beach the second week of June. There are two families here - each of us with young kids (three kids - oldest is 5). We're looking at Dunes Point on Maison Drive. Can anyone tell me if this is a good area? I had a bad experience last summer with a rental in San Diego and want to make sure that this experience will be better.
Thanks!
Beth

I'm not sure of that area but we stayed on Ocean Blvd. one year. We enjoyed Broadway at the Beach. Lots of shops there plus M'ville. If you're seafood eaters go to Crabby Mike's on Hwy 17. It's got a website too. The food is incredible. Kids like it too. Sometimes the little kids hula hoop outside to keep them entertained. It's cute. The adults do it too. That's funny of course. I heard not to long ago they were going to build a Hard Rock amusement park there somewhere. It's supposed to open soon. I just wish i was going too!!! Have a great time!!!

Oh yeah, they have a CIP in North MB too!

this is not a bad area it is on the north end of myrtle. however the place is not on the beach you may or may not already know this. you are in a good central location away from all of the mayhem in downtown mb (ocean blvd. area). you will be close to barefoot landing which is similar to broadway at the beach, this is where house of blues is located. you will also be close to 10-15 minute drive from broadway at the beach which is where margaritaville is and even closer to cheeseburger in paradise. the place is located off of lake arrowhead rd which is a nice area. feel free to pm me for any suggestions of places to go or things to do while you are here.

Thanks for the help! Yes, we know the place is not on the beach, but we're close enough. And thanks also for the dining suggestions.
