Going back to Stout's. Had a great time there Tuesday. Strong drinks, not too crowded, close to the Garden & the Mrs. says the bathroom was clean. So, I have no choice. Stout's it is.
Plus I'm bringing 4 virgins, so I'll need some help in breaking them in right.

Stouts was awesome! Great drinks, staffed nicely so no wait for drinks, and if you get hungry, The burgers are damned good too! and its 5 minutes to MSG. We all had a great time!Tropic_Al wrote:Going back to Stout's. Had a great time there Tuesday. Strong drinks, not too crowded, close to the Garden & the Mrs. says the bathroom was clean. Given the chance I'll probably do it again
I don't need absolution
Just a simple solution will do.

It was well staffed with not long waits to get served...hint! if the front bar is full, try the bar in the back off to the side! Only downside was that they didn't play any Buffett music until maybe 6:00. But a good time was had by all!
Another word of advice! Get well lubricated before the concert, Margaritas at MSG were tasty, but there was a 30 minute wait while the band was playing. I can't imagine how long the wait was at intermission.
It was nice meeting you last night, loved the boobie necklace...
Stouts was cool, they put on the Wrigley field DVD, and there was no trouble getting a drink. Remember the back bar, bathrooms are there as well, so you don't have to go downstairs. Lots of parrotheads there last night. Bner's were small in #, but a force to be reckoned with.
Lots of yellow album fans at the concert.
Have fun Thursday night, hope you get a gem of a show like we did.
My seats in 220, to the right of the stage, our sound was good.
Our beachball made it to the stage, it was a unique one, so we know it was it, and Jimmy kicked it to the crowd, that was pretty cool.
Party on people!!! Wish we were going again, but can't take that ride to NYCtwice on one week. We still have Tampa

Glad you liked the boobie beads, I get that a lot. This was their 6th or 7th concert, they are boobie Buffett veterans! It was great meeting you, and all the other BNers. It was my first concert at MSG, hopefully not the last! I thought it was one of the best Buffett shows I have ever seen, but then again, I never saw a bad one. Guess the last one I saw is always my favorite!
If anyone wants to make a day out of it, head up to Little Italy for the feast of San Genarro. lot of fun, and an amazing crowd! and great food!
So bless me father, yes I have sinned.

stout
I agree. Stout may seemed packed when you walk in but it is so big that it isn't difficult to find a bar there and settle in. The downstairs bar with the dart board only had one bartendar so waiting there for a drink was too long (this is a thirsty crowd after all). That was the only negative I saw in my 2 hours there Tueday night.Tropic_Al wrote:Going back to Stout's. Had a great time there Tuesday. I guess the other negative was allowing myself to be overservered...
Well, friends and neighbors...

GCS to Penn St.
Just an fyi - GCS to Penn (on foot) takes less than 15 minutes. Cab fare would certainly be under $10 unless you get caught in one of those bad gridlock days where it would be quicker to walk anyway. I regularly take a cab in the morning from Penn to a few blocks past GCS up to 47th and Madsion and it is usually between $6 and $8.Fu Corleone wrote:Penn....TommyBahama wrote:do you get in at GCS or Penn???Fu Corleone wrote:I'm pretty definite about going to Mo's. Also, in case anyone is still trying to decide where to go, we went to Stout on Tuesday and it ROCKED!! They certainly do cater to Phans as the place was decked out in tropical theme and they had Wrigley concert on all the TVs. I'll be back there tonight.
Cheers!

Songs They Play To Death!!
(Disclaimer...I don't mind Yellow Album songs at all and I'm glad those songs get the casual concert goers on their feet!)
Y'all all have fun!

I'm assuming that this refers to fans who only are familiar with SYKBH, so when things like School Boy Heart come on, they are clueless and sit down (if they were standing up at all!). But, like all other shows I've seen at MSG, it can get pretty corporate there (like Kitty said to me the other night) and you have alot of people sitting down during the entire show- FYI to everyone whose this is their first time to MSG for Buffett!mac622 wrote:Please excuse my ignorance but what is meant by that statement above?JimChunk wrote:

Yep - I agree. Tonight will be my 3rd time at MSG and I have seen that same thing. On Tuesday, I got excellent seats a couple of hours before the show (Section 2, Row D, seats 1 & 2 - we were DEAD CENTER!) and there was a guy right in front of us with excellent seats and a suit on and he sat the ENTIRE show. It was the craziest thing I have seen. I mean, come on, you have these ridiculously good seats and you sit there like a lump all night long??? This dude couln not have been more disinterested in the whole affair. It actually looked like he was there out of obligation and not willingly. I did see a few others in may area doing the same thing but not to the same extent.
Me personally - I stood the entire time even during intermission!
