I wonder how the shirt is feeling about this. I mean, Larry has been dating his shirt for some time, just to be left home for the trip of a lifetime. I think the shirt is going to need some therapy.

He was just standing there having a glass of wine so I stopped, said "great show Roger" and shook his hand. Jimmy and Roger are the only ones who haven't signed the shirt.

Now that I think of it, the last time I remember bringing the shirt on a road trip was last July to Erie. Nadirah signed it for me and I don't think it's left Long Island since then. I should check when I get home tonight and make sure I can still find it.buffettbride wrote:I wonder how the shirt is feeling about this. After all, Larry....you were in Paris......in June......at the Eiffel Tower! Great trip report! I wanna hear about the food, though....what about the food?!?!LIPH wrote: I should have gotten there earlier, there were hundreds, I mean HUNDREDS, of people online waiting to go up the Tower. I don't do lines well, especially when they're that long, so I didn't ride the elevator to the top. I spent some time in the park near the Eiffel Tower, then headed back. Again playing the tourist, it took about another 2 hours to get back to the hotel.
I shook Roger's hand, not Jimmy's. I only handed Jimmy my ticket so he could sign it for me.Snowparrot wrote:Your first trip to Paris---lucky you!
My first trip to Paris was back about 1971 and I've been back many times, even lived in the suburbs a couple of seasons. I feel so happy for you, and the next time we meet, I'll be sure to get Your autograph!

Details, details.... his DNA touched your DNA.... (I was going to say, "mated with your DNA," but that just sounded WRONG....LIPH wrote:I shook Roger's hand, not Jimmy's. I only handed Jimmy my ticket so he could sign it for me.Snowparrot wrote:Your first trip to Paris---lucky you!

I really liked the hotel, the Golden Tulip Opera De Noailles. It's only a few blocks from the Paris Opera, about a 10 minute walk from the Louvre, close to Place Vendome. I thought it was walking distance to Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower and the Arc De Triomphe too, although some might not agree about that. There was also a great free breakfast - mini pastries, toast, yogurt, fruit salad, applesauce, muffins, a great apple/cheese pie, a meat and cheese platter, cereal, rolls, baguettes, apples, cherries, grapefruit juice, orange juice and your choice of tea, coffee, cafe chocolate, espresso or cappucino. All the employees I came in contact with were bi-lingual, which was a big help for me since I'm uni-lingual.OttoCal wrote:Hey Larry how was your hotel? Would you recommend it? I don't go out to eat in fancy restaurants here in NYC, I didn't see any reason to change just because I was on vacation. There were a ton of small cafes, bistros, brasseries and whatever else the French can think of to call them near the hotel, so when I was looking for a place to eat those were the kind of places I chose.bubba phan wrote:After all, Larry....you were in Paris......in June......at the Eiffel Tower! .....and that had to hurt about the shirt. Just gives you a reason for "next time", right?
