When Jimmy does decide to Hang that Guitar up he will at least do a farewell tour so before we worry about what we are going to do we can enjoy ourselves one more time around, also the tailgating doesnt have to end there will still be plenty of stories of Buffett Concerts from Long Long ago to be told

I hope he doesn't do a farewell tour. What I'd like to see is just a normal tour like he's been doing the last few years then when it's over, it's over and we won't know until the next year when no dates are announced early in the year. Maybe show up at a small club or one of the Margaritavilles every now and then. Or not.

I do not know about you... But im p*** George Strait stopped his summerfest tour. I would go see King Geroge in a second over Jimmy. Been to one of his shows compared to over 20 of Jimmys. I thought it was much better. Than again I did also have 10th row for King George.

Larry-- It doesn't count when you play against the 1st grade T-ball team. You are much bigger than them. ( sorry I had to do that one)

And I'd have to say it definitely won't be for me. I've lost family and friends that have made me much sadder.

I've been lucky enough to have seen him 14 times since 1996. If he hangs up his guitar pick tomorrow, I will enjoy what I had and feel satisfied. , I will be happy with artists who have similar styles, without as my hype such as:

Hugo Duarte, Brent Burns, Mark Mulligan, Sunny Jim, Jim Morris, Scott Kirby, Gary Seiler, and many others.

I was a Parrothead before my first show and will be after Jimmy hangs it up, goes down in a plane crash or whatever.
Hell, I don't see him much in concert now. Maybe 10 times since 99, one of those was just a few feet away.
Right now I like seeing local musicians in bars.
As a major Bocanut I will go to more Jim Morris shows as well as other trop rock bands like some that have already been mentioned.

I think you may be right ... he's been at it for 30+ years ... and those tow youngins are mighty capable of keeping the Wheel rolling for many a year.

In all the years I've followed The Wheel, I've never seen Ray defer to another band member like he does with Jason. And Jason gets better every time I see him ...

Can't wait to see the feature on Ray on CBS' Sunday Morning.

Ahhhh ha!
Gentilly ... 42 years is a long time to wait .... a Northeast Texas woman can hope.
My love is an anchor tied to you, tied with a silver chain.

Maybe we'll just have to go see Rod Stewart!

I know... everyone's gonna get down on me...

But it was fun tonight to see Rod Stewart in Raleigh, and that guy is 62 years old!!! Didn't look or act a day over 50!

And the smile on his face, seemed genuine, ... He's still having fun, just like Jimmy.

No tailgating, but it was so fun to go back to the 70's, if just for a couple of hours!
Hey Snake, we need more wine!

The Strait stadium shows were great from a fan perspective in that you saw a lot of big names for the price of one ticket, but it had a couple of downsides. For one thing it was a logistical nightmare - two full sets of the major equipment (one for Saturday, one for Sunday). They would only play Saturday and Sunday, which when factoring in availability of the stadiums, greatly limited the cities the our could stop. Finally, from a fan standpoint, unless you were fairly close to the stage, you couldn't really see much. When the tour hit Turner Field in 2001, I was on the field, but the performers still looked like they were a mile away, I would hate to have been stuck in the stadium seats.

When Strait played Gwinnett last year, I was at the back on the floor and could see wonderfully, as well as the sound was better.

Hmmm... not sure since most of the people I listen to are near his age.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Amen. I have been lucky since I have been able to get a ticket to a Buffett show every year since 1994.

I figure when Jimmy gets close to the end of touring, being the marketing man he is, he'll create a real Margaritaville destination, like a Dollywood or Branson. He will have select dates and special occasions when he plays (maybe 3 nights a week?) and the rest of the time will be filled with others taking us to that "One Particular Harbour".

The question is whether he'd put it in Florida, where everyone else goes so he'd have a better pool of vacationers to pull from, or would he go for the Gulf Coast of Alabama or Mississippi and give back to where he came from. I'd think land there would be relatively cheap and the draw could help out some communities.

Hubby and I have discussed this before. Another idea would be a resort. Lots of fun things to do. JB music piped in around the resort in the walkways etc. I know we would go. I like the idea myself.
