I know... everyone's gonna get down on me...

But it was fun tonight to see Rod Stewart in Raleigh, and that guy is 62 years old!!! Didn't look or act a day over 50!

And the smile on his face, seemed genuine, ... He's still having fun, just like Jimmy.

No tailgating, but it was so fun to go back to the 70's, if just for a couple of hours!
I would love to see Rod one more time.. he does have a great time.. 8)

I'm ahead of the curve on this one.

I've bought more CDs and seen more live performances in the last 5 years by these artists than JB.

Sunny Jim, Jake and The Half Conched Band, Scott Kirby, Gary Seiler, Jim Morris, Brent Burns, Eric Stone, Hugo Duarte,
Mark Mulligan, Mark Northey, Amy Lee, TC Mitchell, Peter Mayer, Scott Bryan, Boat Drunks, Dave Calhoun,Vince Gill,
Bob Karwin, Howard Livingston & Mile Marker 24, Tracy Byrd, Kelly McGuire, The Tractors....

Lots of country shows & oldies acts from prior to 1990. I can't believe that I refered to prior to 1990 as oldies acts..... Yes I can! [smilie=hammerit.gif]

I am seeing my first show in June after many years of wanting to go so I hope it is not anytime soon! I have a lot of catching up to do.

I am a Bon Jovi fan and see them as much as most of you see Jimmy so that will continue. I also now go to the country shows that come around- Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban.

I love the idea of some kind of Jimmy World- would pay to visit something like that for sure. Florida would be great as we have family there and my daughter is going to college there come August but I would visit such an attraction anywhere. A stand in Vegas would appeal to.

The first time I saw Rod Stewart was in the early to mid 70's in Columbia , SC......(I lived in Charleston)

Phil Donahue was still on the air..and was filming from Charleston at Charlestowne Landing.......Friday, he had the London Philharmonic Orchestra on the show....

and Saturday, the whole String section was in Columbia performing with Rod Stewart.....

Hearing "Angel" with the String Section....especially all the violins?

It was awesome! 8)

(odd choice...but Charlie Daniels was the opening act.....I just never would have put them together..... )

"Jimmyland" [smilie=coolup.gif] As you walk through the giant gates entering the rest of the worlds favorite theme park, you enter the world of eternal tailgating parties! You are greated by dancing parrots and margarita glasses that greet you with a smile. As you wander past the giant fountain of margaritamix, you begin to smell the charcoal fires at the concession stands serving up your favorite "Margaritaville Shrimp" tips, chicken, sausages, dogs and yes the $20.00 "Cheeseberger In Paradise" that comes on a souvenir plastic dish! (they make sure you eat first). As you are served your meal by your waitperson dressed smartly as the parking lot security officers from all of your concert venues, you look around to find one from your favorite (Greatwoods) location! You now begin your journey past the countless beerstands, Margarita-stands, luge stations, the "planet jello-shot" ride, more charcoal pits. Past the "Have your photo taken with this giant penis" ride. Past the Boob-OO-Meter display. Past the "Win Your Mardi Gras beads here" tournament. Maybe stop for a drink and dance a while on the deck of one of the fleet of busses that have been converted into pirate ships! After 2 hours of walking to the center where everybody meets and forms a giant congo-line on the way to the giant castle in the middle of the park, the castle known to all true fans of JB "Port-O-Potty Palace"! Of course it is surrounded by the enchanted forest where every tree has a full toilet paper roll holder and a sanitary handiwipes dispenser and a mouthwash [smilie=puker.gif] dispenser attached for those true tailgate type moments!

I'd love go on but I've got my weekend chores to do! Somebody else can continue this!

I saw Rod Stewart once and it was so long ago he was still the singer in Faces. Ron Wood from the Rolling Stones was the guitarist.

I keep hearing Rumors that they are going to do an old school
tour with Ron Wood, Jeff Beck and Rod.. the only "New " song
would be "People Get Ready"
I hope they find a way to pull that off..
