Jimmy in Toronto this Summer

Post by Couganata »

Heard from a friend and followed with source. Toronto Ampitheatre in September rumor. Apparently there are deads mutually open with buffett and the amp and they have send out a request for him to play in September. If I hear anything I will follow up.

Now THAT would be cool. Makes you wonder why artists can't just line up a tour in the spring and announce them, though, rather than feeding them out piece by piece.

So what's the skinny on tailgating/partying at the Molson? Seems to me tailgating wouldn't be very feasible, Toronto seems more like an organized pre-party in one spot location. Yes or No?

Not much parking lot party in '05, just a few scattered people in their RVs, but the weekend pre-concert events thru the Maple Reefers were fun. There was a concert-day party at a hotel, but we didn't go.

It is not "geared" for much partying in the lot but the Toronto Maple Reefers hosted parties during the week and also the Keating Channel Pub is excellent right near it!

Since Molson Amphitheatre is in a Provincial Park, alcohol is not permitted.

However...

In '05, we got there at about 3:30 and immediately started pouring drinks. As I was pouring the first round of margaritas, park security guy walks by and says no worries. Just keep everything on the downlow and there are no problems. Plastic cups are mandatory for this show!!

A few people got tickets for drinking in public, but they were on the boulevard between the park and Lakeshore Road. That boulevard is city property, not part of the park and it was Metro's finest giving out those tickets.
Dumb and drunk as I was, you know I would do it all again.

Also correct. I haven't been, but I hear the Maple Reefer parties are excellent.

I am local to that area, for buffett it is a relaxed vibe...

Last time he was there, when you pulled into the lot you had to pay your parking and then receive a flyer that essentially waived the venues authority over the behaviour in the parking lot. In essence they said that if you park here, you can party, but, if you party and someone gets hurt you can't sue us... and you can party as much as you want as long as you are decent and behave we won't bust you for booze.

Went there for his last show, tailgating cant compare to Pitts or Boston, no "open fires" allowed,(yes, I missed my cheeseburger!!) and NO glass bottles...but we still managed to party just fine... And since Toronto is only 1 hr away from where we live, this is a real treat for us!!!!
And my love is an anchor tied to you, tied with a silver chain

Does anyone know about the ticket prices? I see on ticketmaster that tickets are $41 to $121... are there tickets inbetween those prices? or are there just tickets that are $41 and $121?

Those aren't the real prices at all, they are everywhere between and over!

There is a price in between, around the $75 mark.
