sleepy little place huh? That's usually ok with us. Give me a book on a beach or by a pool, a little snorkeling and some scenery and I'm a happy camper.
We have 3 nights there coming up during the next year. We won't make a trip to the Caribbean for that short a time....so we will either add to it on St Kitts or visit a nearby island for the rest of the time.

I loved St. Kitts and Nevis when I visited them. It was sleepy but that was before the Marriott was built and the sugar cane field below Brimstone Hill was turned into a golf course.
Three days gives you enough time to explore both islands and still allow you sometime to relax and unwind.
Have fun

Ever been to St. Barts?? We go there every year. It is laid back, yet there are 80+ great restaurants/beach bars/nightclubs to keep you amused..or peace and quiet if you desire. Than you have Autour Du Roche to hike up to and Le Select where you have a very good chance of running into JB if he is on Island........No Golf, No casino, just french carribean ambience.....

Just in case anyone else has words to say regarding St. Kitts (or Nevis)
We will be visiting both shortly
The house sitter has been hired. Someone to plow the driveway if it snows while we are gone has been hired. I'm ready for a tropical vacation!

to be honest I wouldn't go back (unless there was a reason of course). there is a difference between sleepy and boring . . . there are places with better scenary and other luxuries . . .
if you have a choice as to which island to go to for the same basic cost as a St. Kitts I would go some place else.

Hey, I love St. Kitts, we are going in Feb....loved it...not too touristy yet. And love the little strips of bars you can walk to. And I didn't do too bad at the Casino at the Marriott. When are going?

Hmmm... where did you stay? Where did you eat? Did you take that train -- there was a big fuss a few years ago when it was re commissioned. We would like a suggestion or two-- otherwise we will likely have enuf Marriott points to stay there free.
We are going to be doing St. Kitts in late July along with Antigua, St. Martin, prolly St. Barty, for our 10 days 'summer vacation'... it's a cluster of islands we haven't hit yet, partly cause it's hard to get to from B'dos, but easier now from Trinidad; 'course we'll be coming from the south. (Everyone here gets away the end of July into early August if they can, until 'petit carem' comes, 'cept the yachties who are hurricane seasoning. Usually we can get locals' rates in off season when we give our address. )

If your thinking about a run down to the Caribbean look no further than St Kitts. We got away from the lock in of the Marriott and ventured out. Met up with a local by the name of Shabba who was tending a beach bar at the Angelus resort. We made small talk and after a couple of hours and ??? many rum swizzles the crew invited us to Sugars night club where he said every local gathered each Wednesday night for Karaoke. We told him we would consider it and went back to our hotel. My wife and I felt comfortable with him and all the others so we figured we would give it a go.
We hailed a cab outside the Marriott and boy are we glad we did. We got there at about 7:30 and did not leave until 3:00. Singing karaoke with the locals sent me back to my table singing "I have found me a home" We stood out like the proverbial tourists that we were but they took us in and to this day (11 months later) we communicate via email and phone calls.
If you are looking for a true Margaritaville experience give the Angelus St Kitts a try.

My only recommendation would be:
drink, and bring back as much Brinley Gold Rum as possible!
It is produced on St Kitts, and is the best infused (flavored) rum on the planet.
We have all five flavors on our bar, and love them all!
Vanilla
Lime
Mango
Coconut
Coffee

We really enjoyed St Kitts and Nevis.
We stayed at two very opposite places. The Marriott (think big) on St Kitts and Oaulie Beach on Nevis. (Think little cabins on the beach).
Loved both actually! Went to Shiggety shack and had lobster on St. Kitts. Went to Sunshines on Nevis and tried the "killer bees" There are drinks I like a lot better. They were a bit too sweet for me.
We could have easily spent more time on both islands.
Oaulie beach is an eco resort so they have solar heated showers. We learned to that the time for showers was late afternoon before dinner...not first thing in the morning

The kittes were waiting for us? Mom and dad are in Michigan? Tom still has a job? It's kinda expensive to eat out every meal? You can't enjoy the tropics as much if you don't have something to compare it with

You certainly CAN enjoy the tropics without something else to compare it to!! Who says you ever need to be cold again? We liketa be where we warm!
