Panama City Beach

I was hoping to visit next year with my family. I was wondering when M'ville is going to open there. I also need advise on where to stay and eat. We are hotel/motel kind of people. I'd like to stay on or very near the beach. Preferably on Beach Front Road. I've read PCBeach.com but wondered if anyone had any other suggestions. We hope there is an amusement park nearby as well. Thanks!!!

Um...this is soooooo embarrasing...

I live in Panama City...but know nothing about the beach...

However my brother works there every day...and is moving there...I'll find out from him later.....I also made friends with a girl that grew up here and I'll ask her too....and we have another BNer that lives on the beach...and a couple more that live in PC....Someone will know these answers for you..

I just moved here in mid January and I prefer smaller, quieter...so I go to Mexico Beach when I go....

There are a few Hotel/motels still around and on Front Beach road. Bikini Beach, super 8, best western(casa loma) and Fountain Blue are a few suggestions. The water park on Middle Beach Rd just opened for the summer. We have Ripleys Believe or Not and Gulf World of course. I think Margaritaville is slated to open in spring'08' but rumored for this fall.

The Chateau is still here. Continental Condos is a nice place(not a high rise). I stayed there when I was vacationing here.

St Andrews Park and Shell Island are a nice choice for a day at the beach.

Starting Memorial Day, Pier Park(where Margaritaville will be) has Concerts in the park on Thursdays.
