Which one are you talking about? The one in my signature line or my avatar?
The one in my signature line is T.C. Mitchell, Jimmy's former saxophone player.
The one in my avatar is my dog Desdemona. (Other people say we look alike too).

That was also about the last 78 I bought, "cause 45s came in.... probably bought a few things before the Beatles.....
I loved Perry Como, and Tennessee Ernie Ford who was also mentioned here.

I have a turntable too, and several hundred LPs, many of them will never be on CD because I have lots of bizarre, obscure stuff like Croatian folk music from my days of teaching international folk dancing.

By the way, this topic is a fun trip down memory lane!

Wino you know wrote:I wonder if anyone here (besides me) has a working turntable/RECORD player.
One of these days VERY SOON, I'm going to have to go through all of my records just to see which ones I have. Most I can remember, but I know there are many I bought by the famous "one hit wonders."
It'll be a fun trip down Memory Lane, if nothing else.
Of course! Mine is a Technics Frequency Generator Servo Automatic SL-230.

It's older and I've had to replace the belt on it, but it works like a charm.

I have several in my juke box...some original....some remakes.

They make new 45's now to fit old jukeboxes. They're much better when they're original!!

I have 2 "before the beach vinyls" - somewhere like in a milk crate in attic? I don't think they are the original releases tho since I bought way later than the original press dates. May have to scout it out and report back.
