i won't buy tickets in advance...i'll get them in the lot...if not....i'll be at Gillette in 2 days!!.But i'll be there to tailgate...there is no cost for parking.....just a area roped off.MacPhin wrote:thanks larry and tommy.
we put in for tickets through our club but i'm thinking that we may just wait until the day of and see what we can get. if we don't have tickets what is the deal with regards to parking in the lot??? or will we have to park somewhere else and walk in?
the club seats are the $96 ones so i'm pretty sure it's in the upper level, perhaps in the back. i know they were in the back the last time but not sure how far up. the club doesn't get the same locale year to year.
tb, i'm assuming that you're going, are you larry???

It's not so much inside as it is the $$. Stopping by for the tailgate but waiting for Gillette on the 2nd to go in. Family of 3, almost $800 ? ouch !Triathlete-Parakeet2 wrote:Every time he plays here, i feel sorry for him. I dont think he sold out here last year a doubt he will this year. I dont know why the tickets are so much more expensive in Mohegan. Who wants to see JB inside anyway?

The problem is ..He plays around shows that are in the area and a bit cheaper around the same time...he needs to play later in the year or the winter time...then he would sell out!!Triathlete-Parakeet2 wrote:Every time he plays here, i feel sorry for him. Exactly. If he did a "winter" mini-tour of indoor shows like Mohegan Sun, MSG, Wachovia Center in Philly, etc. they would definitely sell out.TommyBahama wrote:The problem is ..He plays around shows that are in the area and a bit cheaper around the same time...he needs to play later in the year or the winter time...then he would sell out!!Triathlete-Parakeet2 wrote:Every time he plays here, i feel sorry for him. Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Tell us how you really feel????Zuke wrote:I'm just disgusted by the ticket prices, it STINKS. I sold one of my Gillette tickets because I went to Atlanta for only $50 more than the ticket, that includes airfare AND a ticket to the ATL show.
The Rush ticket I have for Mohegan Sun is 90 bucks, the same seat for Buffett is $251. Ridiculous.

Good to know. I'm already going to two shows before (Camden and Cincy) so the face value for this one put me off, but if a deal can be made in the lot, it might be worth the drive. If not, there's always crapsTommyBahama wrote:usually not!!!...you can usually find tickets well below cost in the parking lot the day of the show!!mjeischen wrote:Is Mohegan a sell out? I've never been to a show at Mohegan. friends have been to JB there, swear it was great. Another friend went, saw Black Crowes w/ Drive By Truckers opening. Said the sound for Truckers was awesome, but for the Crowes it was awful. Just my 2 cents worth.

Ticket Prices
I work For Mohegan Sun and as far ticket prices go, they are for the most part set by the artist. The casino rents the arena to the artist for a set price, and in return the artist takes all profits from tix sales, and tee shirts and stuff. This is not the case in all shows, but some of the bigger names do this. I assume that Buffett would be in this cat.

went to lastyears show and it was awesome!yes i paid for the 250 tickets.the thing is the place is about as small of a venue that he plays nowadays unless u are real lucky to catch him at a surprise appearance.mohegan was convenient.it was easy to get drinks and go to the bathroom at the show and from where i was sitting the sound was awesome!

Mohegan Sun Ticket Prices
One of the big issues with tickets at Mohegan Sun Arena is the ability to
pay for tickets with comp points from gambling. Mohegan has to pay
Jimmy, but with many tickets going to people with points, they have less
cash coming in to the box office. They would rather have people use points for high mark up items like meals and rooms, but they can be used at the Arena. Consequently, Mohegan Sun jacks up the prices for cash paying fans to offset the comp point tickets.
Also consider the size of the venue - only about 10000. It is intimate and
a great concert experience. Compare that to Foxboro (68000+) or
Madison Square Garden (20000+).
All that being said, I can't wait. Got my tickets in my pocket (paid cash)
and will see you there.

I have to admit, after Aspen and Anguilla, even Mohegan Sun seems "big" and $250 seems ridiculous...... I'm spoiled forever by the "sweat equity" of standing in line at a tiny, general admission venue and ending up super close for less than half the cost of Mohegan Sun.... I'll probably go, but I don't think I'll pay top dollar....
