The few times I have had grits in a restaurant, they tasted very much like Cream of Wheat.

Garlic spiced shrimp and cheesy grits with hot sauce :D
As long as the "hot sauce" is TOBACSO
Tobasco should not be allowed to use the word "hot" to describe their product. It's tasty, no doubt...but it is not even remotely hot.
I won't argue the HOT part, I just like the taste. There are procuts out ther that taste really good and are hot.

Try Jim Dandy quick cooking grits and cook them about 20 minutes. You have to keep adding a little water. Add some cream cheese and butter to the finished product. Yummy and creamy.

The iron is why I'm especially excited about grits. Celiacs are notoriously anemic along with being a female plus I have a feeling her interest in gluten-free Peanut Butter Panda Puffs is going to wane very quickly if that's the only thing she has to eat for breakfast every day.

Panda Puffs... that even sounds rude....

I've tried all the flavors and the cheese is my fave. I've heard the bacon one is pretty good too.

I've had Waffle House grits....actually they were pretty good. Maybe it was the additives being thrown into them from table 4. :o

Isn't polenta just fancy-talk for grits? Call it something else and charge 5 times as much....

When I was in college in Atlanta, we had grits a lot for breakfast. Cheese grits.... mmmm....

Or just go the butter/brown sugar route... that's good too.

I'm pretty sure it is, but it's loaf-a-cized and seasoned with sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, basil etc.

I am probably the only one (so far) that likes grits both ways - just with a little butter or you can add brown sugar and raisins to make it like oatmeal. (I don't add milk tho)

I've never had any other kinds, cheese or flavored? :o or with shrimp :D
