I don't have time to read the whole thread, so this might well be a repeat...

I love grits. Butter, salt, and pepper; mixed in with runny fried eggs; or the "northern" way (so I've been told) with sugar and milk.

If grits are gritty, they aren't cooked properly...I looked at grits as a breakfast cereal when I first ate them...,

no longer, I have them for breakfast, salted and buttered.

I love hot cereal, malt-o-meal, cream of wheat, oatmeal.

Grits aren't cereal. If Victoria will eat them sweet, however she makes them sweet, it'll easily replace her malt-o-meal, after a while...

Grits are very versitile, as is rice...

The kids at school love them, especially at noontime, with cheeze...

Grits, like polenta, take some getting used to...

Can she have rice?

Good Luck!

Yep. Just nothing containing (or cross contaminated with) gluten...wheat, oats, barley, rye...

Are Rice Krispies a possibility?

And I'm not a grits fan either- they just made the cheese gooey/sticky without adding flavor.

But I do love polenta- I like to add feta and pineapple to the roll of plain polenta for something completely different.

Nope. Rice Krispies (and most Kellogg's cereals) contain Malt which comes from Barley which is a no-no. She can have Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles, but I wouldn't let her have those cereals before she had Celiacs so I don't think I'm about to start!

Ooohhhhh. Feta and pineapple. I bet that's good. I'll have to give that a try.

Agreed! I know I've eaten shrimp and grits there... That's where DH and I had our first date way back in the dark ages!!!

Redbone Alley in Florence, S.C., has the next best shrimp and grits...

Third place goes to Queen Anne's Revenge on Daniel Island. 8)

Well, that and they're gross. The milk after you're done is just scary!

It's definitely a diet that requires spending a lot of time at the Hippy store.
