iTunes w/out copy protection

Post by chippewa »

Starting today, you can get some iTunes songs (EMI) without copy protection that will play on competitors players without converting the format. Higher sound quality (256Kbit/sec instead of 128) and a $1.29 price per song. You can also "upgrade" your past purchases to the new versions for 30 cents a song, if available.
The unrestricted content means some songs purchased from iTunes will work for the first time directly on portable players other than Apple's iPod, including Microsoft's Zune.

The inaugural batch of iTunes Plus songs includes music from Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, Norah Jones, Frank Sinatra, Pink Floyd and more than a dozen of Paul McCartney's classic albums.

Burn it to a CD and then upload it to your other players program. It's worked for me.

Yeah, but this is nice since you won't lose quality everytime you resample the song and change formats. Plus, it's higher quality to start with...and no hassles.

I've found that you can only upload the CD as a data disc... sometimes it doesn't work for me to burn the CD and re-upload it :(

BUT, dont think about "SHARING" those DRM-Free songs from iTunes. Each file includes your iTunes account info including your email addy.
