Well not all the legislatures along the coast are as forward thinking as Florida. :)
the big thing in the houston area today is emphasizing who should and should not evacuate when we get the next threat. people evacuated with rita who should not have....which made it more difficult for those of us who had to evacuate.

the media is promising not to scare people like they did last time. yeah right

Yeah you and I both know that isn't happening. The local guy here in PC starts ramping up the coverage the minute a cloud appears in the Atlantic. It might be 3 weeks off from us, but he makes sure it is something we keep an eye on.
Yup, and mobilize the camera crews to the trailer parks

I know SC could use the rain. A weak tropical storm would be good.
I've read dozens of books about heros and crooks and have learned much from both of their styles.

You can have it after we are done with it here in Florida!

Hopefully the storm will just be a welcome start to the rainy season

Hey if you could send it to Panama City for a while, maybe delay it until Monday so I can get a day off work that would be great.

By the way, I think you have a awesome job. I would love to fly into the eye of a storm.

you might get some... right now forecasts are suggesting in FL armpit landfall which will bring beneficial rain for drought stricken areas.

we got 1 1/2" overnight in Southeast Georgia, on the coast....and it's been steadily falling all night and morning.

what a relief,...summer before last, Tropical Storm Tammy stalled off the coast here...we got over a foot of rain in 9 days...

Matt,...I saw the Newfie when you started using it...it startled me for an instant....no, he is not forgotten..

there is definitely excitement in the job... if you are not military, you need to talk with a Keesler AF Reserve Recruiter AND also have an interview with the supervisors.... I'm not sure about the openings... I guess we'll find out soon.
